St Tudy Inn

Beautiful room, very upmarket ! Comfortable bed and bedding. Small but perfect, wish we had booked for two nights so we could have eaten there as food looked great. Unfortunately they only served lunch on a Sunday.

Th inn is attractive and the food was good. The scrambled eggs, often a disappointment, were cooked to perfection. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Clearly the St Tudy Inn was a pub which has had to add to its offering to remain profitable. The accommodation is in a converted outbuilding where you could have two large suites or four small bedrooms. The latter, understandably, was the choice which has been made. However this means the rooms are indeed very small. There is no space at all for chairs. If you need to be in your room you must sit on the bed. I understand the logic of this but, that said, I think a small room in the main building, perhaps the one nearest the back door, should be converted into a small lounge for use by people who are perhaps elderly or tired or staying in because of inclement weather. Also, people coming to Cornwall will usually want to be out and about doing things: 9 a.m. is late for breakfast. By the time it is cooked and eaten it is almost ten o’clock, meaning a late start for visits to local attractions. 8 a.m. would be a better start for breakfast.

The Manager was really friendly. The Pub had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the food was excellent. Ate there both nights after days out. No need for taxis to anywhere else. The breakfast was delicious. The accommodation was very clean. Small with 6ft 6” husband but we managed and everything you would need for short stay.

The bin men woke us up with the clash of bottles very early. The delivery guy woke us up early with barrel delivery. Understandably it needs doing so we were just unlucky. It would have been nice to have been warned when we checked in so it wouldn’t have been such a shock.
