The Cottonwood Inn B&B

Beautiful trees and gorgeous historical building. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The downstairs and breakfast space is set up so you can either have some private time or visit with other guests.

we stayed in the Empire room, Which was a bit small for a couple. We weren’t too worried about this because there are so many interesting things to do in Empire we weren’t focused on hanging out in our room so it was a decent place to crash at the end of the day.

Location was great. The inn was very nice. Due to our schedule we were unable to eat the breakfast but they set out bagels, muffins etc…. So we were good.

Nothing I didn’t like. It was a great place

Bed too soft and lumpy, squeaky, with old stretched out linens. We expected hospitality from hosts, but arrived to note on door. Breakfast late every day with heavy carbs and little protein. Few choices for allergies: Wife had leftovers one day. Overpriced based upon value.

We loved everything about it!

The rural setting (bright red barn, porch, lawn and garden) were even prettier than the pictures. Our upper room (three beds) was cozy and welcoming after a long day of exploring the Upper Peninsula and Sleeping Bear Dunes park. I would describe it as homey rather than chic, exactly what we were looking for. Very friendly staff and delicious breakfast. I would recommend the Cottonwood, a genuine, traditional bed and breakfast, to anyone looking for a unique experience in this beautiful part of Michigan.
