It great location

We loved the central location of this hotel, a once upon a time (and now semi converted) noble building in the heart of the historic quarter which is replete with wonderful picturesque old buildings and more than a few quirky shops and bars + a 5 minute walk to/from both the cathedral and the most amazing free Art Gallery which not only has an interesting array of stuff by local artists but a few historic gems by the likes of Sorolla, Dalí + Miró. The staff were wonderful and gave us an umbrella as, despite being early May, the weather was unpredictable and though warmish the heavens opened on a regular basis.

With breakfast charged at around €17 a head, and the weather so changeable, the little time we spent in the hotel was in our room, which despite being cosy and having a most well apportioned bathroom suffered from the most appalling smell of bad drainage. When we checked out, we mentioned this, and it seems that in such an ancient city centre the sewerage system is simply in meltdown. Note too that parking here is not easy as the centre has one giant roundabout and lots of one-way streets - so, having established that parking near the hotel was/is impossible, once we'd gone round the same route 2 or 3 times and got our bearings we simply went for one of many big car parks (the hotel does not have one) within just a few minutes walk.
