Great location, feels safe for SF standards, good restaurants, shopping opportunities, cultural sights nearby. Easy check in. Cool motel vibe. In general, good value for SF standards.

- old hotel smell in the room. The carpets and walls have seen things. - shutters absolutely useless shielding against light, especially the overwhelming flashlight from the courtyards. Just why. - facilities and furniture feel flimsy, outdated, partly broken or of bad quality (our toilet flush hardly worked, broken parts of the cupboard, flimsy bathroom shelf, shutters get stuck easily, elevator quite dirty) - reality and expectations from the pictures and description did not really match, it looks a lot more modern and convenient than it is in reality (even taking into account that this is normal for advertising, of course)

Loved our stay. Breakfast had many options, the pool was great, location of the hotel could not be beat, central to everything, bus stops nearby. The only improvement I could even suggest is having a mini fridge in the room. Beds were comfy, staff was incredibly friendly and attentive.
