"Modern, spectacular service"

10.0

I stayed in the TSC Pansion for two night May 2014. My room was clean and modern. Internet service was adequate. There was a lot of shelve space in the cabinets. A couple times when I went to shower, I only had mildly warm water, otherwise it was hot. The breakfast was superior, well served and plentiful. I always felt secure. Service was spectacular. When I wrote the hotel about the arrival time of my bus, Emina wrote back to say she would meet my bus. I don’t think she realized that buses from Podgorica arrived at the east bus terminal, not the main terminal. Anyway after some confusion on my part and the early bus arrival, she gamely drove out to the station. Upon my departure Emina also transported me to the nearby main bus station. About the location: Yes, it is away from the center. While there is a local bus stop about 40 m from the hotel, I never investigated whether it was suitable for going to the center. There are local restaurants, min-markets, and a supermarket at the next cross-roads (200-250 m). From that intersection you can walk three blocks to the street Bulevar Mese Selimovica and the trams. Other guests have written about inexpensive taxi rides, but I use the trams twice and otherwise enjoyed walks (and of course Emina's taxi service). There is a well-maintained Muslim commentary about the hotel. Yes, it feels a little isolated compared to being in the center, but I enjoyed walking around the local neighborhood.

"Be careful about the price!"

2.0

They told me that the price is 15 euros per person for a night in a room with a French bed and after my girlfriend and I had spent the night there, they charged us 30 euros per person! I used my phone to book the room so I didn't have evidence for this, but be careful and make sure to communicate using e-mail or some other mean of written communication so you can face them with facts. There are better, similarly priced hostels in the centre of Sarajevo while this one is 3-4 miles away from the centre.

"Comfortable option, slight off-located..."

8.0

TSC Pansion is one of the more affordable hotel-like pensions or hotels in Sarajevo. It's not ultra luxury, but a charming option. The pension is a bit awkwardly located on a busy main road, right next to the train tracks (means you will see a train like every two hours), about 4 euros away from the main station and some more euros (and even more minutes) away from the southern bus station (where the busses from Montenegro arrive). It takes about ten minutes by foot to reach the next tram station (and i walk very fast), which was a bit inconvenient. The center is probably ten minutes away by car (they have a big and safe parking area on site, which can be locked at night) and about 30 minutes with a tram (including the way to the station). But beware...trams can be really crowded in Sarajevo ! The hotel/pension itself is quite nice. There is a small reception are, with an adjacent breakfast room and a separate part of the building with the rooms. I was given the apartment in the cellar, though i only booked a double room. The apartment was really huge, with a big living room, a big sleeping room and a bathroom and a small kitchenette. The living room had a big leather sofa, a flatscreen tv and was all in all equipped very well (even with aircon). The bed room was a bit more basic in comparision, but still sufficent enough. The bathroom had some kind of a high tech shower, of the kind i never figure out how to use it properly. While everything was kind of huge, the bathroom felt a bit cramped and worse, it had air circulation problems. The air felt kind of damp inside and i think they must really work the ventilation work better or the bathroom might face serious problems in the future. But, by now...everything feels very good (apart from the awkward doors), very clean and comfortable. Despite the near proximity of the road and the train tracks, i had a very good sleep and didn't get much from the noise outside. Certainly good. The staff or owners (i never really figured this one out) is super nice, tries to help you out everywhere they can and even offer you food, drinks or transport. It's good to have such good hosts. They also offered some breakfast in the morning, which was just adequate for the size of the hotel (buffet style). Well, all in all i can really recommend the place for the money they demand. It may not be the freshest place on earth, but it's certainly comfortable, clean and very friendly ! The only downside might be the location, but only if you don't have your own car or if you think that taxis are too expensive (they are not in general, only the detours they do, make them expensive).
