We normally stay at the Disneyland Hotel; however this time we decided to give the newly renovated Pixar Place Hotel a try.
We stayed at the Pixar Place hotel from Jan. 14 - 18, 2025. We reserved a Premium View Room which according to our travel agent, should have guaranteed us a view of Park. Our travel agent also contacted Disney directly prior to our arrival to ensure that we were set.
Upon checking in, were placed on the 8th floor with a view in the direction of the park, which consisted mainly of the rooftops across the street. The only thing visible of the actual park was that of the tall rock at Radiator Springs.
I called the front desk to request a higher floor since that's what were were paying for, but and instead was quickly informed by the front desk agent that our reservation was for a view of the pool, not the park. She then proceeded by offering to upgrade us for an additional $75 night, which I declined and stated that I would speak with my travel agent in the morning.
Around 15-20 minutes later, I received a call back for the front desk. This time it was another agent. The gentleman appolgized for the the issue and then stated that he could move us to the 11th floor at no charge. Needless to say we gladly accepted. However, as we repacked our belongings to begin the room move, the agent called back to notify us that the room that we'd be moving to was also and ADA room. When asked what the difference was, the agent stated "it's mainly the roll in shower". Given that info, we proceeded to the front desk to get our new keys. (Although, based on the info that previous agent provided, he technically could have placed us in another normal room instead of that ADA room; since according his co worker it was available for an additional "$75 night"). I guess they were too focused on the upsale that they forgot about the customer service aspect.
To our surprise, the ADA room was significantly different (shower, beds, closet, desk, etc.) and also lacked the sofa couch that the other room had, which would have been useful for a family with two children, such as ours.
On the second night, we returned back late from the parks. We we all tired. As I showered, I noticed that the shower drain began to overflow and the water quickly overflowed out into the bathroom. Luckily my husband was able to clear the drain (which was disguisting) and we were able to dry to floors - Definitely not something that you'd want to do on your vacation.
To make matters worse, we were unable to fall asleep due to all of the noise coming from surrounding rooms. The walls at this hotel are so thin that when the baby next door cried, it sounded as if he/she was in the room with us. Then, in the wee hours of the morning, there were thumping footsteps coming from the floor above and sounded as if a child was running up and down the room/hallway.
During our last night there, safety also became a concern, as the front door didn't seem secure. We noticed that when all of the lights in the room were turned off, we could still see light coming in from the hallway. There appeared to be a gap between the wall and the door frame.
This is honestly not the type of service and room quality that I've come to expect from a Disney Hotel. We could have stayed at a GNH with better service, room quality, and paid way less. Our stay here was extrememly disappointing.
It's unfortunate that this was our first impression of this hotel and likely our last.
