Monte Rosa Boutique Hotel

Staff were friendly and helpful. Asked for ice and a fan and they brought them to the room. Location is along the Main Street across from a church that rang some very loud bells but that stopped late at night. Close to everything. Breakfast was very nice with options for freshly made eggs. Room was large especially for Europe.

There is no way to control your room’s temperature. There is no AC. Usually not an issue perhaps, but in May the heatwave in Europe made this 3rd floor room hot and stuffy. Opening windows helped but lets in lots of street noise. During the evening I was constantly getting up to adjust the windows to let in more or less air. Night was cold—50, even 40’s For $500/night, I expected better. We spent over 2 weeks in Switzerland and stayed in 5 hotels and every other one had AC. In the winter, no problem, but with ever increasingly hotter summers, this was a big problem for me. Otherwise, nice place.

There’s a lot to like about this property. It’s elegant and historical with views of the Matterhorn from our balcony. Super friendly young staff especially Bruno at Edward’s bar. I would like to highlight great communication from the front desk, Iliana. You’re superb! Completely happy with our room as it’s a significant milestone trip. Breakfast was hearty. We were completely satisfied. Loved the pick up from Zermatt train station and drop off.

Everything! The staff were exceptional. The food at breakfast superb. Very comfortable and clean room.

The location is excellent! The breakfast was excellent! The staff were friendly and welcoming! Despite the weather, our one-night stay was fantastic!

The weather at our arrival was disappointing. However, the following day was beautiful and sunny!
