Such a lovely way to pass an afternoon. The High Tea experience is steeped in generosity and well worth every cent. Thuli was an attentive and kind hostess.

Mount Nelson exceeded all our expectations. The hospitality was exceptional from start to finish. We deeply appreciated the seamless airport and safari transfers, and the beautiful honeymoon suite preparation made us feel so special. The Afternoon Tea was unforgettable — special thanks to Nawal for her wonderful hospitality. The breakfast was amazing, and the attention to detail was outstanding throughout. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Mikael and the entire Guest Experience team, who took care of every single detail, and to the Concierge team who helped us explore the beauty of Cape Town. Honestly — visiting Cape Town is something, but staying at Mount Nelson is something else entirely. A truly magical honeymoon we'll cherish forever. Highly recommended! 🌸💕

We enjoyed the Hi-tea alot. Our waiter Zona was exceptional and the food and drinks were hi class. The whole atmosphere of “The old lady” is wonderful.

Marking ten years at the Mount Nelson Hotel’s afternoon tea was a quietly profound experience. Seated in the garden, the soft winter sunlight filtered through, casting a gentle glow that felt both nostalgic and tender. The subtle scent of burning wood mingled with the crisp air, evoking a timeless warmth that seeped into the soul. Each delicate sip and bite was infused with a sense of reverence for the years passed—a serene celebration steeped in grace and memory. This wasn’t merely tea; it was a moment suspended in time, a beautiful pause to honor a decade of life’s unfolding story.

Lovely venue and service. Big shout to Thabisa and Craig, such a a warm and welcoming service. The little details to take home like the cake and tea are just top nudge. We will be back.

Beautiful Colonial hotel, absolutely spotless and decoration is divine .. All staff extremely courteous and polite. The afternoon tea is beautifully presented and quite delicious .. I hoped to save room for the extra cake buffet at the end but I was sadly defeated after the sumptuous delights of the afternoon tea. Our lovely server Zodwa explained everything to us before each course.. Highly recommend that you visit in this wonderful city.

This was our first tea time experience. It was fantastic. Our hostess, Ntombi walked us through the entire process and patiently answered our questions. We are a vegetarian family with peanut and tree nut allergies. We were able to still enjoy the experience despite our dietary restrictions.

Was a beautiful experience however Zona the waiter did not tell me about each dessert as she was rushing to serve others, and when I asked for a take away box she said there was not any, however I saw she gave something to another guess to take away.
