Palace Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Francisco

While a beautiful hotel, our experience was terrible. Our stay was only for one night, and it did not go smoothly. We spent 15 minutes to get the the valet parking only to learn that it was full. We were instructed to a parking lot a few blocks away. Upon check in we were encourage to have the bell service bring our bags to our room. After waiting for a 1/2 we inquired about our bags and were told they would be up soon. After waiting another 1/2 my husband went downstairs and collected them. He located them unattended on a bell cart in the lobby and brought them to our room. We were provided with a room on a high floor as an "upgrade" however, they failed to tell us that 2 of the 3 elevators for guests were out of order (and evidentally had been for a number of days), and there were long waits for the elevator, with most people resorting to the stairs. We noted a spill with broken glass by the stairs near the market street entrance and reported it. When we returned over a half hour later it was still there and had not been cleaned up. When we went to our room last night we noted a few room service carts in the hallway, 9 hours later they were still there and had not been picked up. When we shared our concerns this morning on check out, the clerk said that she was "sorry to hear it, it was a busy weekend...". A VERY disappointing experience!

My wife and I had dinner at the Pied Piper, and we had such a wonderful experience! The Wagyu smash burger was delicious, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The ambience was just right — we were seated in a quiet corner, which made the evening feel cozy and relaxed. A special mention goes to our server, Suren, who truly made our night memorable. He’s originally from Nepal, and it was such a pleasant surprise getting to chat with him. Suren’s warm, cheerful personality and attentive service added so much to our dining experience. He made us feel genuinely welcome and made the evening an absolute delight. Highly recommend visiting Pied Piper — great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service!

My fiancé surprised me with a historic tour + lunch at the Palace Hotel for my birthday. Our guide Michael provided us a wonderful tour of this historic hotel, celebrating it's 150th year anniversary. Our tour lasted for over an hour with lots of interesting nuggets about the hotel. Michael covered everything from the architect, artifacts, esteemed guests, famous events, and spooky stories of the hotel. The tour is a must for a history nerd, and truly wonderful to find something like this in the city! After the tour, we had a 3-course lunch at the garden court - the most beautiful space to enjoy a meal. One of the chefs here was the creator of the green goddess dressing! The starter was a salad with the dressing. The main course was delicious. I loved the chicken dish even though I'm not usually a fan of couscous. Ended the meal with a classic chocolate mousse. After our meal, Michael also gave us a final tour of the French parlour to view the Garden Court from above! 10/10 would recommend this tour to anyone looking for something interesting to do in the city.

My fiancé and I had an incredible experience at the Palace Hotel. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. Thank you so much to Sam for the celebration cake at breakfast and the excellent service.

Absolutely stunning hotel. The staff are welcoming and helpful and truly make your experience one of a kind. The breakfast buffett in the gorgeous chandelier room is a 100% MUST. Our waiter Sam was phenomenal; helpful, funny, attentive. A true 10/10
