All the staff were excellent, from the front desk, to the bar and restaurant. Beautiful grounds and excellent golf course. Spa area was very relaxing and a good size. Breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel - good choice and very tasty.

It's a bit of a maze and our rooms in the modern wing were a long way away from reception, bar and breakfast room. We had older people with us that can't walk too far, with one in a wheelchair so this made it hard work, but not enough to put us off going back again.

The level of service from all staff was exceptional. Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere, beautiful location.

better shower in the room bathroom, but used the showers in the spa.

It was comfortable and grand looking. Comfy beds and lovely rooms. Not all rooms had a sofa even when it was large enough for one, so had to sit on the bed. Our evening meal in the restaurant was fabulous! Great cook! Table Staff were great too! Thank you! Beautiful well tended gardens.Plenty of car parking… though ended up in golf parking area as we had misread the signage. Worked out well as our rooms were nearer that car park anyway…however had a long walk round with our cases in search of reception. Friendly and efficient reception staff and great staff in the downstairs bar areas. Knowledgeable about the house and obviously love it. Very good breakfast that we looked forward to each morning. Plenty of choice and lots of fresh fruit etc. Ask for your eggs to be cooked to your liking as if you are late rising the scrambled eggs may no longer be soft and creamy! Beautiful hotel and we felt well looked after, thank you.

Not enough loungers around the pool…and periods when the pool was out of use for classes… Guests need to check timings of these to avoid disappointment… though the saunas etc are still in use at these times. Water fountain in pool area was just a trickle. Need easier access to water/ drinks when in the pool area. Had to go out to reception area for water. Though water, tea and coffees were in plentiful supply there. Great coffee too…just need to cover up and have flip flops to get them. Treatments are quite expensive , but maybe they are worth it? We didn’t try cos the cost put us off. If you are unlucky and have a family with young children staying in the room above you be prepared for the sound of little feet running about above you! …Or maybe it’s the resident ghosts?

Excellent hotel surrounded by beautiful quite grounds, I had room 338 which was overlooking the golf course. Parking is free and easy, the reception was quick, very helpful and informative. I used the pool and spa which was great. Breakfast in the hotel is great with a wide range and choice for most people. I will definitely be staying here again.
