Baymont by Wyndham Yreka

At some point my dog decided to pee on the bed skirts in the room. I didn't see this but I don't doubt it. I left a $150 cash deposit for the room. At checkout I was informed of this and told there was a $50 cleaning fee. I didn't dispute, I understood. The manager then passed the phone to the front desk and he handed me $50 of my $150 deposit. He informed me that the owner last second changed her mind and decided to chare a $100 cleaning fee. I recently had surgery, lost my job and am having a hard time. This could not have come at a worse time. To take advantage of me in my condition is inconceivable to me. I would never kick someone when they were down like they did to me. So it cost $100 to clean bed skirts? Bad business.

Clearly our experience was super compared to some that were written in September. If considering staying here, I suggest you read "all the reviews". Hotel has had a complete makeover in the last 3 years, much better. Easy access on and off the freeway. Best part, no more outside entrances to units, all inside now. Feels a lot safer. Sadly the hot tub had no jets, but was warm. Breakfast pretty lame. Rooms are tiny, so the rollaway chair @ the desk area was super fun to get around each other, whee.... in the room. Clean, quiet, good bedding, good bed, $144 2 queen beds, 1 night, it was all we needed. Very well maintained grounds as well.

The hot tub was working this time. Had stayed here before and it was only lukewarm.

1. We had to have them come clean the toilet when we checked in…there was pee on and around the toilet. 2. They always had a great breakfast before, this time it was a very poor selection of breakfast sandwiches and cold cereal. No hot food at all!

The breakfast was fantastic, rooms were clean and beyond that the staff were incredibly helpful kind and patient. Thank you for the great experience

This is an older facility and housekeeping does a good job of keeping the rooms clean. The beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet. Only concern was that all the back doors were propped open overnight with rocks.

Everything has been great!!

The person at the front desk was helpful but not very friendly. I know he was training someone but the trainer wasn't really watching. Also, when we were finally given out keys, walking down the hall to our room, every room had their laundry piled up on the hallway. The "breakfast" was very limited. The bathroom reminded me of a rest stop. Single sink so nowhere to put our belongings. Great that it is dog friendly but no true place to take potty. The TV kept going out on us too. Unless, this hotel is truly updated, we will not return/

We had previously stayed at a Baymont on another part of our trip and this one was disappointing. The one thing we really liked was it is right behind a Black Bear Diner so we walked there from the room and we were across the street from a Wendy's and Carl's Jr. was nearby. The tv reception in the room was spotty. We had maintenance come to the room who arrived quickly, and found out it was one channel that was bad, but throughout the night, other channels were spotty with static too. The box spring on one side of the bed made a thunking noise every time you got in and out of bed and my husband fixed it by putting a towel under the box spring, which worked. When I sat on the other side on the end of the bed, the same noise happened. The worst was breakfast. To me, a continental breakfast means eggs, sausage, and fruit and not everything pre-packaged. I did not eat since all of what they had was high calorie and very high carb. If it had stated limited breakfast, we would not have booked this hotel.

Great breakfast options, coffee and tea; located just off an interstate exit, easy on and off. Clean comfortable room. Will state here again.
