Delta Hotels by Marriott Giardini Naxos

Very, very nice hotel. Perfect location on the beach in a little town, near Taormina and with the view of Etna. Hotel is good, great swimming pool area, bars, beach. Rooms and bathrooms could be modernised. Good breakfast. Clean, We loved it. close to supermarkets and restaurants. Parking paid 18euros per night. Kind staff.

Lovely pool, breakfast was great, nice beach area. Good spa treatments - I had a great massage, though spa is a bit basic. Lovely lobby and bar. Friendly staff.

Bit of a rip off - prices for drinks and parking €18 a night!! Our car was damaged whilst in the car park, too. They still insisted on charging us. Feels like they are trying to fleece you for every last thing. Family room was tiny, with not much space to put anything. Not many loungers by the pool so we couldn’t always use it as it was full. Some of the loungers (double ones) were very worn and no cushioning so very uncomfortable. The main restaurant was very over priced with bland food - we ate there the first night and then avoided it after that. Wouldn’t go back.

Hotel is dated but clean, albeit did find some hairs on the shower head which was very off putting. Location and view from room were great. Breakfast was nice, although could do with more coffee machines and toasters. Had a day round the pool which was relaxing. I’ve never seen a pool where the tiles are dark. Did make seeing the steps difficult and sun loungers are very low and not many have mattresses (those that do the mattresses aren’t waterproof). Had dinner one night and food was lovely the service was so slow and just seemed chaotic with no one in charge. Asked for a late check-out (€30 a hour), was told over the phone we could do this but in person at reception they told us not possible until morning of departure (whole point of a late check-out is you want to know in advance). As much as this has Marriott in the name the level of service doesn’t reflect those hotels we’ve stayed at before. I can live with the dated rooms etc. but poor service isn’t acceptable.

Big hotel. Gym and spa included. Great breakfast.

Needs a refresh. Carpets in the rooms. Couldn’t turn off the aircon.
