Cannery Row Inn

This is what I did not like about the property . I was told that the property was directly across the street from the Monterey Plaza Inn, where my family was staying. It was not across the street and I had a very uncomfortable feeling. I did not feel safe the whole vibe of the location and the room, the layout of the hotel I was very disappointed. I checked in and I checked out 30 minutes later.

The location was great!

We booked 3 rooms for 6 adults and a toddler to stay for 3 nights. Our group included my husband and I, our 16 month old, my 83 year old mother in law who is in a wheelchair, my 63 year old mother and my grandparents who are also in their 80s. The first morning there we found black mold in the room so after my husband showed them photos and videos of it they switched us to a smaller room where we had issues with broken items such as patio door locks which was dangerous due to us having a mobile 16 month old and being on the top floor. In my grandparents room the tv and fireplace didn't work and on check out day they where asked to leave the room early so they could start cleaning. I asked about being reimbursed for our room the first night due to us staying in a room that was not up to health codes and safety standards (which is what they are suppose to do) and was told no because it was my fault that I didn't find the mold the first night. They said they would have changed our room that night but also that they were sold out of rooms that night which doesn't make sense. You can't change to a room you don't have available. Not to mention after a certain time nobody is physically there at the front desk to assist you for anything. They have a kiosk that you can use to talk to someone remotely. Their elevator almost crushed multiple people in my group including my 16 month old as it either doesnt have a censor that keeps the door open if something such as a hand is trying to keep it open while others board the elevator or the censor is broken and doesn't work. Overall a pretty dangerous place with employees that seemed like they could care less and had no problem gaslighting their guests. The worst hotel experience I have had in Monterey! Very disappointed!

300 bucks for one night with a check in of 3pm and a checkout of 11am is insane! It was a completely fine motel but nothing special or even better than any budget motel.
