Everything was perfect and I have no gripes 💯

We truly try to find the good in every place we stay, but this experience was… unforgettable, and not in a good way. We do not recommend this hotel—honestly, we recommend running away. The two positives (because we’re fair): The staff was friendly and brought extra pillows and washcloths within 15 minutes 👍 The Mexican restaurant right next door was great 🌮 Now the rest… We reserved a non-smoking room, yet our room was just a few feet from the smoking section. The result? A nonstop cocktail of musty air, smoke, and weed smell. You smell it when you walk in, you smell it in the hallways, you smell it in the room… then it circles back to musty again. There appeared to be only a handful of rooms occupied, yet everyone was placed right next to each other. The hotel is advertised as soundproof—that is absolutely false. We heard traffic all night and a kid next door banging until 2 a.m. And for context, we live next to a highway and can normally sleep through noise with no problem—this was on another level. To be clear: we are not picky travelers. We regularly stay in budget-friendly, family-owned, sometimes outdated places. Our main priorities are cleanliness and a good night’s sleep. We’re totally fine with a place that needs a little work if it’s clean and comfortable. Those places usually deliver amazing value. This one did not. Cleanliness was a major issue: Mold in the bathroom Stains and burn holes in the blankets (in a non-smoking room) Toenail clippings from a previous guest still on the floor 🤢 Beds so uncomfortable we barely slept Our kids—who can literally sleep anywhere—woke up looking like zombies from tossing and turning all night. Bottom line: friendly staff can’t make up for filth, smells, noise, and zero sleep. We wish we could say otherwise, but this place was disgusting. Save your money, save your sleep, and stay somewhere—anywhere—else.

The price was great, but the staff was completely unprofessional. It definitely was a bit divey, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was the blood stains all over the walls, likely from needle users. There was a lot of foot traffic in and out of the hotel and around it. Staff was completely unprofessional and was acting sketchy, and didn't appear surprised to hear , nor did they care. No uniforms , I thought eh whatever, but wheb we got to our first room in 119, it reeked of cat piss, and the floor boards were lifting. I didnt get a chance to check the walls because I immediately went to front desk and requested a new room, to wh8ch again no surprise, no sorry, and asked me , "Did you guys mess up the beds or anything? " so you know no one was going in there and cleaning it , even after we went in there. We get switched to 120 right across the hall , smelled better at first until about 5 minutes, I started looking around, and theres the blood, some weird schmegma on the floor, stains everywhere, and burn holes in the blankets of a non-smoking room/hotel. Its now after midnight so I cant make a reservation anywhere for a new hotel, so Im looking at the 7 other hotels that are practically on top of eachother and checked reviews, and everyone said they and bugs an roaches in the other hotels too!!! So, I start researching places found a quality inn in Darien, 12 minutes away, for more money, and I called and told them whats up and they said they would gladly give me a room. I only needed one night. It was disgusting. I called the parent company the next morning from the georgeous quality inn, and got a refund for the super 8 hotel, in Brunswick.

Read up top. It was disgusting, blood on walls, definately from needle users, doors didn't lock properly, the door to outside had a key card lock but it was clearly disabled, as you just had to pull the door open, no key card needed. Regardless of location and price there should ve a level of professionalism, and a standard to uphold as you are liable for the cleanliness of the hotel and being up to code! This hitek is privately owned franchise with Wyndham as the parent company. Shut this lady down! People will get sick in this place, and animals, since its pet friendly. It us a disservice and they even falsely advertise their hotel in the pictures, bu uaing a different super 8 location pictures for their advertisement, which is purposefully misleading , false advertising, and a disservice to the public, travelers abroad, and the community. This is shameful as human beings to allow this to continue any further! And should be illegal !

Let me begin with the one positive: the check-in staff member was pleasant and welcoming. Unfortunately, the rest of my stay was extremely disappointing. When I first entered the room, a strong, musty odor hit immediately. I was exhausted and only wanted to shower and get some rest, but the problems continued. The television volume didn’t work at all. When I went to take a shower, I discovered visible mold throughout the shower area, which was truly unacceptable. I went to the front desk to request a different room, but I was told the hotel was fully booked. This was hard to believe, as the parking lot had only a handful of cars. Rather than argue, I returned to my room and attempted to make the best of it. The bedspread had multiple holes—what appeared to be burn marks—even though this was supposed to be a non-smoking room. When I pulled back the sheets, I noticed small blood spots, a concerning sign of possible pests. I immediately put the bedding back and slept on top of the comforter, fully dressed. The next morning, I threw away the clothes I slept in out of caution. I tried to shower again in the morning just to ensure I wouldn’t carry anything from the room with me. As I walked out to check out, I noticed the elevator was out of service with a sign that looked like it had been posted for quite some time. I had hoped at least the breakfast would redeem the stay, but at 6 a.m. there was no breakfast available at all. Overall, this property is in serious need of a full renovation, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend it to anyone. I am respectfully requesting a refund, and I have photos documenting everything I’ve described above.
