Super 8 by Wyndham Portland ME

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hotel was truly awful from start to finish. We arrived after a long day of travel, only to be greeted by a receptionist who barely acknowledged us and acted like we were an inconvenience. Check-in took forever, and the staff showed zero interest in helping us feel welcome. The room? A disaster. It smelled musty, like a mix of mold and stale cigarettes—even though it was supposedly non-smoking. Noise was another issue. Thin walls meant we could hear every word from the loud guests next door, and the street noise made it nearly impossible to sleep. The "continental breakfast" was a joke—just a few stale pastries and instant coffee served in a dingy room that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Overall, this place is poorly managed, unhygienic, and not worth the money—no matter how cheap the rate is. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

Front desk staff not friendly at check-in. Pool not accessible. Previously used wash cloth left in bathroom. No fridge.

The propert was one step above motel 6. I had a friend in California that has 2 of these and they are beautiful. Room was clean carpets are disgusting. Desk staff either rude or have no idea how to talk to guests. I will not stay there again. Also I’m sure they gave me the grossest farthest room because I ordered through Expedia. I called for 2 days with out a response. I am an older women and was made to struggle up the stairs and down the hallway. Very rude.

Motel was old and outdated. Towels were a joke. Halls smelled dirty. However the room was clean. You need an elevator.

Room smelled like urine. Toilet constantly ran.Would have loved to have the amenities in the room that was advertised online.

The motel is pet friendly, which I love even though my pup was at home; however, the carpets were beyond gross and were lifting/wrinkling throughout the building forming trip hazards EVERYWHERE. The whole building needs a complete facelift with paint, carpet, and lighting. The bed was fresh and the linen welcoming; the bathroom was clean enough but the towels were thread-bare. The bath towel was only a couple of inches bigger than the hand-towel and about the same as the bath mat. Took two to dry off. There was no remote for the TV but the front desk gave me a universal one. She said “housekeeping must have misplaced it” (not sure where they would have moved it to). She then told me maintenance will have a look. I explained there was no rush but they never showed at all. I understand this is not a high- or even moderate-level hotel but it’s still a Wyndham property and for $100 or so per night, I expected a bit more quality.

Rooms were OK. Staff were very friendly but hotel is run down. Room had a bad smell.

I was approved for an early check-in, but refused a room when I tried to get one. The young lady at the counter was drab, rude, and mumbled every word. I ultimately had to wait three hours in the parking lot for them to clean a room for me. Sheets were dirty. Floor was dirty.
