You get access to an indoor bath and family bath within the ryokan. The outdoor bath is with another ryokan but very beautifully set-up.

the location is perfect. the food is very Japanese traditional, so it’s an experience. You can visit the indoor onsen and the open air onsen is nearby at another location

the staff doesn’t speak English not understand. so communication is a bit difficult however they are very kind.

This was one of the few places that allowed for solo traveller's. Appreciated the quality of the room itself and the dining experience was different (they have a large dinning room with each room portioned out so you are still private). The outdoor onsen was at another location but I found it refreshing to go out for a walk in the winter to get there and back. The outdoor onsen they gave us access to was also pretty good.

Everything was perfect and the property met my expectation. The staff were very helpful and kind and the food was amazing! The best experience was definitely my dinner. It was my first time experience and I learned lots of new things and tried many new dishes. It was very fun!

I was expecting the room to be little bigger for this price. Also I though I will have futon, but instead got a western bed.

Vintage wooden building short walk downhill into town from bus station. Not as secluded as soon like its sister hotel up the hill whose pleasant outdoor baths you can use. And should. Budget single room was just that but price was right. Meals served in main room. Quality was adequate but not over the top. Not much going on in the small village that I could detect so next time I think I’d splurge on a ryokan with gardens etc although again for the price this one is just fine. Atmospheric, traditional, not a big concrete building Ike some. Consider making this stop a day trip

Nothing to complain about the Ryokan. I consider Fujiya as a midscale Ryokan with smaller size in terms of rooms, and facilities. My stay was one of the most unforgettable I had in this trip as the staff was so helpful. The dinner experience was the best as the staff was dressed in traditional customs and served everything in right sequence, right pace. just like how you enjoy the 9 courses for a good french dinner.

The location of the ryokan is great and this is a good place to explore and enjoy your stay in kurokawa. Staff are very friendly and attentive and will try their best to speak English if needed. Definitely a different kind of traditional onsen experience

We have been to three ryokans in Kurokawa Onsen, and this one was simply the most delicate. The dinner was a true fine dining, with local material prepared and served with utmost delicacy, though an English explanation of menu would be much appreciated. Our room which overlooks the river was well designed, spacious and extremely peaceful, it would be hard to resist napping during the afternoon if you sit there. My only compliant is with the air-conditioner which make the room too dry in the night. (and a word of warning for very "wide" person, don't book the suite with mezzanine bedroom, nice as it is, a very big person could get stuck in the very steep and narrow stair up the mezzanine.) The onsens were nicely quiet, unlike those in other inns, though a bit too hot for me. You also get a free access to another outdoor onsen across the village. Staffs are extremely polite and helpful. They looked up information of local travel for us and even move our bag to our next ryokan 2 km away. I've been to Japan quite a few time and this is one of the best ryokan we've stayed in so far. Traditional yet very friendly for foreigner. The "feeling" of staying here is incomparably peaceful. You just can't go wrong staying at Fujiya.
