Super 8 by Wyndham Ankeny/Des Moines Area

Room was hot/ac was off when we got in our room and it was August. I couldn't tell if the tub was dirty or just worn out. Bed was hard. Breakfast was below par but the staff was very friendly.

Clean and comfortable

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was was okay though disappointed with the coffee as it seemed instant, and there was no water but tap water offered. The sausage gravy and sausage was a nice gesture though eggs (even hard boiled) would have been nice. People were enjoying the waffles and the juice. The room was an accessible room. The shower was accessible, however, though we were able to get around in the room, carpet isn't truly an accessible item for people in wheelchairs. This isnt unique to this hotel, most hotels' accessible rooms have carpet. Makes us laugh every time. The AC unit was inconsistent and the room felt damp all night. When we returned from breakfast the room seemed damp. We couldn't regulate very well. The shower sprayed nice and had hot water, and the room/hotel was quiet.

The air conditioning was not on in our room 210. The room was hot and the air conditioner had a loud noise while running. The breakfast area was hot as well as the hallways. Staff was friendly. No elevator in this 2 story hotel. Beds were decent. The price was cheap but you get what you pay for. We will not stay here again.

Very clean.

I was very skeptical when I first heard I was going to stay at a Super 8, the last couple Super 8’s I’ve stayed at have been rundown and outdated; not this one! From the moment I first walked in I could tell this was going to be a different experience. They completely updated this hotel with very nice decor. I was greeted by the owner, Puja, with a smile and friendliness; when people would walk in the lobby or breakfast area, she would check in on her guests to make sure everything was good with their stay. I would not hesitate to stay here again, if I’m ever back in the area.

Very Courteous staff, and very welcoming

The halls and the cafeteria area were to hot and stuffy, hard to breath. Would like to have had tissues in the room, and the choice of what we could watch on tv was limited.
