Le Meridien Dania Beach at Fort Lauderdale Airport

I have now stayed at this hotel 2X and both times we enjoyed our stay. The first time was back in October for a work event and this time was the night before a cruise. Pros- comfy bed, clean, nice lobby, friendly employees, shuttle to port, close to Tri-rail Cons (not deal breakers)- -Drain in shower was a little slow making the plastic piece float out a bit. -The shuttle to the port only takes cash and the front desk thought they took card. No biggie, we just don't carry a ton of cash. -The body wash was out in the shower. -no plug in on the desk for laptop

I waited for the shuttle almost one hour but nobody picked me up. I saw shuttles from other hotels multiple times when I was waiting in the F station. I called the hotel front desk line and the staff told me to wait 30 mins first time. I called back 30 mins later, then they told me the shuttle would be there in 40 mins. It was a terrible experience.

Small rooms not so clean. Only 1 person at the front checking in guests making us wait 20min. Wifi around the hotel is very weak. No desk in room to work on.

I was a bit leery because of some negative reviews, but this hotel had the best price of comparable hotels, and I also try hard to stick to Marriott properties. We took a taxi from FLL and it was about $15 with all our luggage and tip. Supposedly there is an airport shuttle but you have to call for it and we were too frazzled from the trip to deal with it. We were relieved to discover that the hotel is very nice. The front desk check- in was friendly and efficient. They upgraded us to a deluxe room on the 11th floor. The view is … mostly Fort Lauderdale and I-95, but we could just see the ocean on the horizon (it’s there!). Anyway, we’re just here for one night pre-cruise. The room and bathroom are spacious and nicely furnished. TV is enormous, coffee maker is Illy (great espresso but I wish they gave you more milk), shower has good water pressure. We were here in January so it’s too cold (for us) for the outdoor pool, but it looks really beautiful. We ate dinner in the Toro restaurant and were a bit surprised by how expensive it was. We had been told it was Mexican, but it was more of a South American steakhouse. The food was pretty good. I’d recommend siting in the bar portion of Toro—it has a prettier atmosphere than the main restaurant. Not sure if they serve food in there though. We asked about the shuttle to the Fort Lauderdale cruise terminal. It leaves at 10:30 and 12:00. Neither time worked perfectly for our cruise so we just took an uber. The location of the hotel is in a highway/airport snarl and you can’t really walk to anything but again, we were only here one night and left for our cruise the next morning. All in all we were quite satisfied with Le Meridien and would highly recommend staying here for a short stay.
