The location is unique and historic and very conveniently places you at Nevsky. meanwhile, the ventilation system is obviously old therefore the smell in the room is so so, and very bad in the bathroom, though the room I was upgraded (n.366) was terrific.

The hotel is located in a very convenient location from where you can walk to restaurants, stores and high-end shops. However, the property is a little bit aged. The staff is fantastic: friendly, helpful, highly professional.

Staff - amazing group of people! The frontline staff spoke English well. The team also provided a special welcome for my parents who were celebrating their anniversary. Special mention to Elena who was on top of everything related to our stay. The concierge also helped to book a reasonably priced tour for my family with a good guide. Location - it is in the key shopping district with plenty of dining options. Never a boring evening and convenient. There are two metro stations within walking proximity. Room / facilities - the rooms were clean and decent sized. Our king sized bed was comfortable. But the bathroom could use a little update though all the necessary amenties were provided. The sauna was also well stocked (bath robes, slippers, hair dryer and shower/shampoo), clean and good for use. Nice lobby too.

Great hotel, professional and efficient staff. The room I stayed in was well-maintained. The only issue is that the water temperature and pressure fluctuated during the shower ... not to a dangerous level but certainly noticeable.
