Lovely hotel and facilities

Nice decor and good location.

Excellent hotel. Well located within easy distance of the airport and quick on to the 1 highway North. Fantastic harbour front location with easy walking to many sites, restaurants and harbour boats and ferries. The staff was exceptional as was all of the food. The spa facilities were terrific and the outdoor pool was excellent for lap swimming or a quick dip.

I rarely write reviews this negative, but was instigated by a survey sent from the Park Hyatt Auckland which I completed, which then directed me to tripadvisor for a further review. In summary, I was deeply disappointing from start to finish. The very first impression of the room was unsettling—it felt unclean and poorly maintained. The windows were visibly stained, and the overall condition of the room looked tired and neglected. This is simply not what I expect from a Park Hyatt, a brand that typically stands for understated luxury and impeccable standards. To make matters worse, I noticed what initially looked like a small grain of sand, but upon closer inspection appeared to be a piece of human skin. It was genuinely disgusting. Unfortunately, I was so exhausted after a long, multi–time zone journey that I had no energy to complain and just tried to rest. Service was another major letdown. On the surface, staff appeared attentive, but there was no real substance behind it. Requests were acknowledged but not meaningfully followed up on, giving the impression of a hotel going through the motions rather than delivering genuine hospitality. I also couldn’t help but notice what felt like a two-tier level of service. Despite being a Globalist member, I observed other guests being treated more favorably. Whether intentional or not, it created an uncomfortable and, frankly, offensive atmosphere. The most disturbing part of the stay was the complete inability to sleep. There is a nightclub nearby blasting extremely loud music late into the night. The hotel is clearly aware of this issue—staff even acknowledged that there have been many complaints—but offered no real solution, stating that even changing rooms would not help. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed caliber. A luxury hotel should guarantee rest, not excuses. This was particularly frustrating as I was only in Auckland for one night, having specifically chosen what I believed to be the best hotel in order to properly rest before an important event the following day. Instead, I arrived exhausted and unprepared. In hindsight, this was a mistake. I should have stayed at the JW Marriott, where premium guests are treated with far more consistency and care, and where amenities like a proper lounge actually add value. By comparison, the Park Hyatt’s offering felt minimal—just a few pieces of madeleine as a welcome gift—hardly reflective of a luxury experience. Cost-cutting measures are obvious and detract significantly from the stay. Overall, this experience was a major disappointment and, in my view, a disservice to the Hyatt brand. My past experiences with Hyatt properties, especially across Asia, have been excellent, which makes this stay stand out even more—for all the wrong reasons.

Fabulous accommodations at the luxe Park Hyatt Auckland! I loved the separate bathrooms - one had the bathtub and sink and the other had a shower and sink. The room was spacious, had a great view of the harbor. The staff was so accommodating- I loved my stay and highly recommend the Park Hyatt.

Service was great from valet to baggage handling, rooms were well presented and room service was excellent with a good variety of choices.

This is a beautifully designed, contemporary hotel in Auckland's Wynyard Quarter, located within walking distance of some terrific dining spots, as well as the Auckland Downtown Ferry Terminal (where the ferry for Waiheke Island departs). It was the ideal base for exploring the city. My room was impeccably clean, and every staff member with whom I interacted was warm and highly efficient in handling my queries, adding to my overall experience at the hotel. Room service was also worth noting - the food was delicious and I particularly appreciated the 24-hour availability of the breakfast menu (which was helpful for me, given my very early morning departure on checkout day). In summary, this was a thoroughly enjoyable, high-quality stay, and I very much look forward to returning.

The size of the room

A bit overpriced for the room we had
