Madison Marriott South

I stayed at this hotel to attend a concert nearby. I arrived early and asked about early check in and was told it would be about 45 mins before my room was ready so I went to grab some food and wait. When I got back there was a line that wrapped through the lobby 3 times full of angry people because no rooms were ready and doors were opening for the concert in 30 minutes. They also offered a shuttle service but you couldn’t sign up for that until check in so the shuttle was full before we even had a chance to sign up. We got ready in the lobby bathroom and headed to the show rather than waiting. We returned at 2am and the front desk staff couldn’t even be bothered to say anything more than “sign here.” There’s construction happening and the next morning we woke up to shouting in the hallway and water pouring out of the ceiling right by the elevators. This was among the worst hotel experiences I have had.

Room was nice and comfy. Check in slow. Overpriced

The room was way overpriced. The room was basic nothing fancy or mini fridge or snack bar in the room to purchase.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, shuttle for rides to nearby attractions.

I stayed at this hotel during the weekend of the University of Wisconsin graduation. The hotel went out of their way to decorate in a Badger theme, offered up water and drinks on the day of graduation and had free shuttles to the stadium. I was able to secure an early check-in and the staff helped me to find an EV charger for my rental car (it was next door). My stay was wonderful but made extra special after I left. I got about a half hour out of Madison when I realized I left my Oura ring in the shower. I called and Emilio picked up and he immediately had somebody check for it. He called right back and indicated they had found it and would arrange to have it shipped to me. The entire staff was great during the stay, but Emilio went above and beyond and as a Titanium member, I really appreciate his high level of customer service!

Booked for the pool, when arrived it was under construction. No notice at the time of booking. Additionally, the a/c unit sounded like an aircraft taking off throughout the night. Had do not disturb notice on the door and maid still barged in before we had checked out. The staff weren’t personable.

The complimentary transportation to various restaurants was unexpected and really convenient.

Everything was really great

The staff was so friendly and really made me feel welcomed. The housekeepers were great, the front desk attendants were nice, and the bartender at the Hub was amazing! The room was quiet and peaceful. The outdoor area was nice and had lots of seating. The location was great, very quiet but also a quick ride to downtown.

The pool and game area were under construction and we weren't notified at all. They did let us know that we could use their sister location's pool next door at the Fairfield, but the pool there was smaller, unheated, and didn't have a hot tub. There was a ton of nats and other bugs outside, that also made their way inside. Could definitely use a bug fogging to cut down on them. Also the bed didn't have a comforter, just a top sheet and a thin coverlet. I know with it getting warmer maybe not everyone would mind, but my mom who was sharing the room was freezing.

Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.
