HOTEL CULTIA DAZAIFU

This is an old house, restaured with respect to the original building and with a high sense of contemporary design. The surrounding traditional garden is a delight. We stayed in a lovely room on the 1st floor of the main house, ideal for visitors from abroad with many bags or suitcases; the long room, small sitting room and large bathroom were faithful to photos and descriptions and overall, beautifully designed. As often, the bedside lights are not made for avid readers of books. Mind that the parking lot (and they are rare and precious in Dazaifu !) is a 3 mn walk from the reception. We were very well received and there was always somebody to help or talk to. The breakfast was superb, not to be missed. Location right on Dazaifu Tenmangu's side entrance makes it a perfect choice for visiting early or late, when there is hardly any visitors. Checking out at 12 is an added bonus, so you can spend more time on site.

Check in took longer than expected.

You feel in japan with a level more comfort dan average. The staff is very friendly and helpfull.

The rooms are away feom the dining area. You have to walk in the street and quiet close to the cars to attend the restaurant. The staff’s english is not very very smooth.

It was an incredible experience exploring Japanese culture. During our family trip, we booked both lunch and dinner, and all the meals were exquisitely prepared with creativity. The hotel environment was quiet and private, with a remarkable garden design that allowed me to feel the season-changing flow. Every corner of the garden was well taken care of and full of the love of nature. Nakamura-san, the hotel manager, provided the best service and represented the quality of the hotel. Hopefully, I'll be lucky enough to book a room when the Plum blossoms are in full bloom next time.
