New Orleans Inn Portageville

Nice economic option in SE Missouri along I-55. Good clean room, basic amenities, I was satisfied with my stopover stay while traveling.

When I arrived at the New Orleans Inn, I went into the lobby and no one was there. The door was open and the lights were on, but the desk was unattended. I waited for a few minutes and then tried to call the hotel only to find the phone had been left on the desk- which was unattended. I waited for 30 minutes and no one came to check me in. At that point I contacted Expedia and spoke with a supervisor who was able to get in touch with a manager of the hotel. The manager came out and gave me a room key and a paper showing my room number and I left to go to my room. Upon using the key to get into the room, a small dog came charging out and I saw a half naked woman laying on the bed- the manager had given me a room that was already occupied. At that point, I demanded a refund and my kids and I loaded back up to go home. I will NEVER attempt to stay at this hotel again.

Been staying here a few days a week for work in the last month and every time I get the best service. Friendly service and room is always clean. Great place to stay

Enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly, pleasant and helpful.

The counter clerk was very professional and friendly. That was the best part of the visit. The condition is very poor: parking lot filled with trash; dog feces on sidewalks; the shag (!) carpet doesn't feel washed. Could figure out the two TV remotes (I didn't ask the counter clerk for help and I admit that). Location is sketchy, and there is no good food anywhere close. Nearby creek/flood creek was very high and possums were finding trash for food around the parking lot. Good things: 1) Counter clerk. 2) WiFi worked and was strong.

My favorite thing is the people that I deal with and it's always the same ones and it's a very good thing to see almost family there like small town like old school. Closest to feeling home and what a blessing

An older motel that is well maintained, quiet, and convenient to I-55. The restaurant next door is closed leaving plenty room to park a trailer or camper in the shared parking lot.
