Belizean Nirvana

Beautiful beachfront property that is well equipped and modern. We enjoyed its location to many restaurants and the village. They serve a breakfast on the rooftop patio every morning which is delicious. Barbara and Evan went above and beyond to make our stay a very enjoyable one. Highly recommend this hotel.

This property is on the beach literally 15 yards from the sea. The property has around six suites, ours was certainly immaculate; we had two rooms with a double bed in each, a television in each along with a ceiling fan in each. In the initial room was a fridge freezer a filter coffee machine and a small counter top cooker (which we never used). The property has sun beds, each balcony has outside chairs and hammocks while kayaks and bicycles are also made available free as part of the stay. Breakfast is provided on an open rooftop area next to a small gym (again unused as far as we were concerned), a stunning area overlooking the sea. The WiFi was strong and worked all the time we were there. The inclusive breakfast was interesting. A whole range of foods was available every day on a buffet basis; there was nearly always a bit of everything with some new items tending to appear each day. Where things became more interesting was that there was often not enough of any one thing i.e. if more than two people wanted granola the staff would have to get some more, with much the same story for everything else, there would be some small pieces of cheese etc. I have no complaints we enjoyed our breakfasts experimenting with a few different items. There was always fruit juice and a jug of coffee (although this too could run out if there were several people for breakfast at the same time). Regardless of this there was always sufficient to provide a meal. If you took the time to learn the names of the ladies who were serving and talk to them you could discover just how hard they work for their wages. When you factor this in and think how much they have on their own family tables moaning about a varied but plentiful breakfast is petty. We had come to Placencia for some diving and hopefully to see a Whaleshark; this proved a mistake. We spent a first day walking around several dive operations finding that most of them had little diving available until the following week, what trips they did have seemed fully booked up, we did eventually book with Captain Jaks’ (I am reviewing this operation separately). It seemed the tail end of the Placencia dive season but rather than have spaces for divers the number of planned trips seemed curtailed (I could be wrong). We finished up as two experienced divers with a large number of snorkelers making up the numbers on the boat. One dive operation wasn’t running Whaleshark trips, we heard from other locals (including Dive Masters) that no Whales harks had been seen in the area for several years. One Whaleshark trip had recently returned with divers having seen a shoal of Grunts; dive operations were charging over $250 for Whale shark trips. What I am getting round to is that we changed our plans and only did two days diving. Having already done numerous active trips hikes, canoeing, up and down Mayan monuments at Tikal we used our time at Belizean Nirvana to relax and wind down; it was perfect for that. Placencia has numerous restaurants, supermarkets, as well as smaller greengrocers etc. and there were plenty of small shops selling souvenirs along with a bank and not forgetting trips being advertised everywhere. However the main thing I liked about the area was walking out from Belizean Nirvana in the mornings and being greeted with a “good morning” from just about everyone I encountered. Our time at Belizean Nirvana was excellent and very chilled.

This Amazing hotel /Bed and breakfast was not only the nicest place we stayed at Belize. It was the nicest establish I've ever stayed in We stayed in the suite with a Jacuzzi tub and full kitchen. It was spotless. It was beautiful and the best point is it was steps to the ocean. They did an amazing job, keeping the Sargasm under control. The kitchen was nicer than my own kitchen back in the states the hosts were amazing The shower was outstanding, great water, pressure, and in any of the other places we stayed in Belize we had pretty terrible water pressure The rooftop breakfast was on point it was continental, but had everything you could possibly need the fresh fruit great they had some kind of homemade cheese that was also delicious and a bunch of other things They had free paddleboard and kayak rentals which me and my husband, both Made use of. I was pretty good at it. I was halfway to the golf of Mexico before I realize my husband was missing. Don't worry I found him later Or he found me rather, and he was not happy about it. Apparently, he had to a walk miles to find me, but I had a great time. lol. Any rate that was a really nice perk The front deck with the open doors had an amazing view of the Caribbean. It was perfect. To sum up this establishment PERFECT exclamation exclamation

Truly a boutique hotel with everything you need and more. Staff readily available to help with any request. The bikes and paddle boards were a nice addition. Breakfast was excellent, beach was raked every day, and lounge chairs ready for us. I would stay here again

This place is amazing. The location can’t be beat and the ocean is steps away. Beds were comfortable and loved every minute of it. Evan and Barbara are great!

I loved this property. It is right on the beach. You walk out your front door and you have a cute porch and then ocean. The rooms are huge, your own kitchenette, living room and separate bedroom and bathroom. Working AC and TV. Also right in downtown Placentia and walkable to all the dining and shops. 10/10 would recommend. Felt very safe and free airport transportation was a bonus.

Nirvana is a lovely property. The owners and staff have thought of all the details to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable!

Home away from home in a perfect Location
