Payed for my room online through expedia. Went to check in at the Coronet and the gentleman behind the desk refused to rent me the room i had already paid for because my identification is from Prince Albert the city in which the Coronet is located. Despite explaining to him it is a mailing address and i live in Alberta he still refused. I had to go to a different hotel to stay. Ill be looking for a refund and will never stay at Coronet again in any location

"Not good"

4.0

Stayed at the hotel on the weekend for a convention. The hotel room smelled very bad of mold/mildew. However the staff are very good people. If it weren’t for the staff I would have switched hotels. I feel bad for the staff because they are doing their best, but the hotel is old and needs upgrades.

"Housekeeping/An Employee Stole Cash"

2.0

Stayed there this past weekend and while I had problems with my key not working on the outside door, the musty smell, especially pungent on the bottom floor, and a spot of blood on my friends pillow, the biggest offence for me was $700 disappearing from my bag. I had accidentally brought an envelope of $900 dollars with me on my trip after selling a guitar for extra cash. When I realized, I took $200 out to put in my purse and left the envelope inside a makeup bag in one of the drawers. It remained there untouched, by me, even after we left as I’d forgotten about hiding it. I called the next day to see if it was still there and the woman at the desk checked for me and offered to mail it, she was great during this call. The next day when I received it at my home in Regina, I opened the bag to find an empty envelope. I called immediately and talked to a different woman who took my info down and told me I’d get a call the next day from the manager. The next morning I talked to the same woman who mailed the bag to me. After we had confirmed the details she said, “yah my manager and I went through it and there was definitely no money. There was only like three things”, which was untrue. So I said, “okay well that just proves to me that the money was taken at your hotel” and she quickly changed her argument to “well we just don’t know if there was money in there” and would only repeat this back to me after everything I said. No ‘sorry this happened ma’am but we can’t do anything’ no ‘we’ll look into it for you!’ Not even a ‘that sucks’! For one, she was strongly implying that she did not believe me, refused to give me any other type of reasoning or resolution, and was a complete fail at customer service in the most basic form. I’m a 22 yr old recent grad. Losing that bit of money means a lot and I didn’t want anyone to be in trouble or go above and beyond. I just wanted to be able to pay my bills this month and I was given zero sympathy or problem solving. I strongly encourage you to stay somewhere else.

"smoking rooms"

2.0

2 rooms were booked, there was no indication that there were smoking rooms at the hotel. Both rooms that were booked were smoking ones and they had no non-smoking rooms available. The smoking rooms were alternating rooms, not one floor smoking one floor not. We did not stay at the hotel as the rooms were quite smelly with smoke. I cannot comment on the rest of services as we did not stay.

"Meeting rooms."

6.0

Had meetings to do that weekend so stayed at the Travelodge. Rooms were outdated and I think they need to upgrade to keep up with the times. The staff were friendly and had no issues checking in or out. Never ate at restaurant so can't say much about that.
