The location is great for attending events at the dome.

It is quite meager breakfast fare. I've stayed at this hotel several times and have learned to go elsewhere for breakfast. If more than one guest, I advise bringing extra bath towels, soap, and shampoo.

Prairie Inn offers a comfortable stay in Vermillion with clean rooms, friendly staff, and a convenient location near downtown and the University of South Dakota. The complimentary breakfast is a nice perk, and the amenities like free Wi-Fi. The decor is a bit dated, but overall, it’s a solid choice for a good night’s rest at a reasonable price. Prairie Inn exceeds expectations with its top-notch service, excellent facilities, and outstanding value. It’s a top choice for anyone visiting Vermillion, whether for business or leisure. Highly recommended!

Proximity

I left my room and the hotel at 2am for a snack and I forgot my card key. When I came back the hotel doors were locked and no one was working in the front. All lights were off. I went around tapping windows til I found the workers room and she was upset at me. I had no choice. I was not going to sleep outside. There was no phone to call and all my things were in my room. She did let me in, but it was very inconvenient for herself and me.

The breakfast was not very good. Had couple different types of cereals. Coffee, juice, and couple different types ;reakfast rolls. Vending machine broke, had sign to go to counter. Bought water was not a coke product. They gave walmart brand for $2.00

Location was great for moving a student into USD. Close to Dome, dorm, and Walmart ~

Smelled funky. Door to the outside at far end of building was unlocked all the time, no key card needed to access, which felt unsafe. Breakfast was grim.

Breakfast was ok, had a good variety. The sausage gravy was cold.

The staff could be more friendly and need to get rid of the pot smell in the hallways.

I was given a refund when asked.

I entered the room and found the mattress, mattress protector, pillows, and pillow cases stained with what appeared to be blood.

The room was clean, had a bath & shower. Had 2 chairs ,small table, mini fridge & microwave. Not fancy but nice. And inexpensive.
