Travelodge by Wyndham Hotel & Cottages St Augustine - Historic

We arrived at the property on January 5 in the afternoon and were immediately met with cleanliness and maintenance issues that fell significantly below Wyndham brand standards. Upon entering the room, we found the bed sheets visibly dirty. We reported this to the front desk and were informed that housekeeping could not replace them, but that we could take clean sheets and change them ourselves. Given the circumstances, we agreed. However, no additional blankets were available to replace the soiled ones. Shortly after, we noticed that the air-conditioning unit was heavily covered in dust. Concerned about both air quality and functionality, we cleaned the filters ourselves. Due to the excessive heat in the room, we left the air conditioner running while we went out to dinner with our children and briefly visited St. Augustine, FL, expecting the room to cool down. When we returned several hours later, the room was still uncomfortably hot, confirming that the air-conditioning system was not functioning properly. We requested to be moved to another room. Although an alternative room was offered, we were advised that all rooms were experiencing the same air-conditioning condition. At that point, it was clear that the property could not provide a clean, comfortable, and adequately climate-controlled room. As these conditions do not meet the standards expected of a Wyndham-branded property—especially when traveling with children—we made the reasonable and justified decision to cancel the reservation. Given that the January 5 stay was unusable and canceled due to issues beyond our control, I am formally requesting the immediate reinstatement of the 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points used for this reservation. The check in lady was very nice and helpful

The room felt damp and clammy. The beds and 1 pillow per person were hard and flat. There was one thin sheet and one thin blanket for the bed with no extras anywhere. We thought location was closer to downtown but actually it was much further than we thought. The price was extremely high for what we got.

The location was not bad, you can get to the historic center by car in 8 minutes

The place was not clean, the bathroom and the floors looked dirty, just as you could see things with dust. Upon entering, you could feel an unpleasant smell that I don't know how to describe (it looked like mold, humidity, or smell like old). I only stayed one night even though I had paid for two and they never went to clean or at least pick up the garbage
