Hotel Lou Pinet

Property was beautiful and smartly designed. Attracted great guests. So quiet during the day; appropriately vibey at night. Service was the best I’ve had.

Free shuttle to the town.

The room, which cost over $2,000 per night, was located in a dark basement and accessed through the neighbor's backyard. It had no windows and the water pipe made constant noises throughout the night. I could also hear all the sounds from the surrounding rooms, including footsteps from the floor above.

The property is extremely buggy but beautiful. I think the disconnect was the lack of the small touches you expect at a 5 star hotel. I was really pleased with the welcome dessert but was completely distraught when I woke up to ants crawling all over my bed. The manager provided a minimal discount and moved us to a room of similar quality. The restaurant has phenomenal options for those that eat meat but for non meat eater like myself there hardly any options and the staff was not accommodating. They also didn’t let us that they offered a free shuttle to the city center and instead put us in 50 USD taxis. The wait time was also insane every time ate at the restaurant. We only received turndown service one of the three nights we stayed. I think if you stay here you should just be extremely communicative with the staff.

So, this a beautiful property. The setting is lovely. The staff are great. Truly. The room was comfortable and the housekeeping was top-notch.

The internet is spotty/doesn’t work very well - if at all - in some of the rooms. That seems like an easy fix for a 5-star resort. There’s no jacuzzi. Not sure why. Easy addition for a hotel like this. Lastly, the other guests here… they’re all a little stuffy. If you like that, great. But for me, I like a friendlier environment (not the staff, btw… they were nice).
