Salty Dog Hostel

Amazing vibes and super chill environment. The owner and all of the staff are incredible and super fun people to hang with. You go to this place as a stranger but even after a couple days you become like family. I wish I could have stayed longer. 30 min drive to Saroke but no problem because it was easy to rent scooters from salty dog. Best place ever!!

This is one of those places where you arrive as a stranger, but leave as family. Areef and his family and staff are super friendly and welcoming! There's a super chill vibe hanging around the place and they regularly organize activities for their guests. Thank you and I hope to see you again!

Maybe there's one thing to take into consideration: the location. The hostel is located in a super quiet bay, which is awesome, but you will need a motorbike and it'll take time to go anywhere...

A Salty Dog Hostel ci siamo sentiti come a casa. Arif, il proprietario, è una bellissima persona, ci ha fornito consigli preziosi e ci ha aiutati a organizzare il nostro soggiorno sull'isola. Inizialmente dovevamo fermarci una sola notte ma poi, dal momento che ci trovavamo super bene, abbiamo scelto di fermarci di più e farne quattro in tutto. Porteremo nel cuore il ricordo di Salty Dog e dell'isola di Nias.

We loved our stay here. Areef (sorry mate I don’t know how to spell it 😂) was such an incredible host! The hostel is located in a beautiful quiet bay overlooking the water. He was able to provide a scooter at a very good price, we thought the room was very good value as well especially considering that it includes a great fresh local breakfast and coffee each day too! We really felt at home here, it’s a very social place where you can meet other travellers. Areef and his wife Yasmin were kind enough to take all of the travellers to a nearby local village for a tour. The wifi was very good too! Thanks for everything, I would recommend this place to others!

La gentillesse du propriétaire et de son entourage, qui sont toujours aux petits soins, que ça soit pour le surf, les matchs de foot, et autre. On est vraiment bien accueilli et en immersion avec des personnes de l’île, qui nous la font découvrir. Possibilité de louer des scooters et des planches de surf. La location idéale entre les spots de surf de Sorake et de Rockstar.

Приятный хостел на берегу живописной бухты. Организаторы создали хорошую атмосферу серфинг лагеря. Есть маски для снорклинга, беседка и аренда серфов🔥🔥🔥🔥

Un rincón apartado del bullicio, lleno de calma, encanto y ese toque de romanticismo que te hace sentir en pausa. El dueño es cercano, amable y siempre dispuesto a echar una mano, ya sea con el tema de la visa o con consejos prácticos para moverse por la isla. Las habitaciones compartidas permiten conocer a otros viajeros con calma y buen ambiente, y muchos surfistas eligen quedarse aquí durante varios días, alquilando motos con soporte para tablas en el pueblo de Alau, a un paso de aquí. Un sitio al que apetece volver. Gracias por todo.
