Schlosshotel Bad Wilhelmshöhe

The location of this hotel is fabulous! Right next door to the park and famous waterfalls! The meal we ate at the restaurant was also very pleasant and breakfast was exceptionally good. My only observation was that the ladies at reception during check in could have been a little happier to see us (one in particular). Instead there was no smile and she let me translate everything. It just seemed a little frosty, no mention of the check out time or where breakfast is of parking fees, but the gentlemen during checkout were quite the opposite and were much happier.

Great location

The hotel is located at the outer edge of Kassel. Thus the surroundings are quiet and more of the countryside yet you walk 1km and you are in town.

The location is really good for visiting Wilhemshöhe. Breakfast was included (which is a plus), it was diverse, but not the finest. We had a room in the annex, which is very quiet, but a bit more remote. As too often to room did not have enough light points.

The location was amazing. The hotel itself is nothing impressive but quite good for a stay at this outstanding location. We were given a room overlooking the gravel covered low roof but the reception refused to replace it with a better one saying that we had booked a "classic" room. They finally agreed to give us a room one floor higher but also overlooking the low roof. We understood that they were overbooked for a conference. Breakfast was excellent at an amazingly low price.

Great stay at this location. Staff very helpful and courteous. Arrived on 12/15 and were advised that restaurant would have a wait. We decided to go for room service, worked out well for our family. Food was delivered within 25 mins. We also got an additional bed for our son when we asked for one. Breakfast was amazing, lots of food options and live cook for omelets. After checkout we walked across the street to enjoy the Schlosspark a little bit. Had a great stay at this place and can highly recommend it.

Beautiful modern hotel set in the a castle park in the black Forrest- Schloss Whilhemshohoe. Everything is impeccable. It's remote, that's because it's located in a historic park, but it's easy to get the tram downtown to Kassel. I'm looking forward to another visit. Did I mention the spa? D

First the good points. This is a modern hotel, fast wifi is free, the room was excellent, the area quiet for a good sleep and the breakfast buffet one of the best I have had for a long time. The hotel is located within a beautiful publicly owned park. Now to the bad things. At £ 147 per night, this is not a cheap hotel. Yet there were not enough papers available in the breakfast lounge and when I requested the reception to let me have a newspaper, I was charged Euro 1.70. Although there are acres of parking space available and the car park is secured by a barrier, they charge Euros 8.00 per night. In my experience, considering the room rate, this is greedy. On balance, the hotel is over priced, value for money it is not. Before moving to Kassel, I stayed in a hotel of equal standard in Erfurt (Linderhof), at roughly half the price, all included. I shall not return, sorry.
