Sheedy's Country House Hotel

Sheedy's is my first choice when visiting the Burren, the Clifs of Moher and County Clare's historical sites. I love staying in period properties so I can experience history and Sheedy's has retained that feel while providing updated facilities designed to make one's stay more comfortable. I have experienced some of the best meals in Ireland at this locale. I highly recommend this lovely manor house facility.

This country in is exceptional! Extremely friendly, clean, quiet and phenomenal food both dinner and breakfast. A highlight of our Ireland trip! Thank you Martina and John for being wonderful hosts. John, the scallops were so good!

We could not fault this hotel in anyway from the initial check in to checking out we were made to feel at home. The hotel is quite, comfortable and spotless. The food is of an extremely high quality. If you are looking for nice place in the west of Ireland to get away from it all then look no further. You won’t be disappointed with this hotel. We wil be back.

We stayed one night and had dinner and breakfast. The meals were excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bath was very spacious and modern. This hotel pays attention to details. The hotel staff was also helpful with recommendations and help with directions. We were very happy with this hotel.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Sheedy's. From the moment of our arrival, it exceeded our expectations. First and foremost, Martine (the owner we assumed) greeted us like we were old friends as she welcomed us into her home. Our room was so comfortable and inviting. When we were in Ireland everyday was sunny and warm. There is no air conditioning because it is rarely needed in Ireland, but I asked Martine if she had a fan that we could borrow and Martine gave us one immediately. When we arrived for dinner, Martine invited us to sit in the large, open foyer and gave us complimentary drinks and olives and told us to relax. The chef is excellent and the food and service is something you would expect at a fine New York city restaurant. Sheedy's was our favorite hotel we stayed at during our Ireland vacation. We will be back.

After spending three days at a Yoga Retreat in Liscannor we spent our last afternoon and night at Sheedy's and it was exactly what we had hoped it would be! We had a warm welcome and an invitation to have tea delivered to our room when we arrived. The room was impeccably furnished with attention given to every detail . The bathroom had large white fluffy towels and an amazing shower with perfect pressure. It was Sunday so we didn't get to have dinner in the Guest House dining room but we did enjoy a beautiful Irish Breakfast ( the best I've ever had) in the morning before we left which was truly appreciated! I highly recommend staying at Sheedy's if you are traveling to Southwest Ireland! The location is great for exploring County Clare!

This was a great place to stay as we travelled up the West Coast to Galway. Really helpful and friendly staff. Great food too.

Sheedy's offers a modern feel for the old ways of life in one of the most unusual parts of the Irish west coast. First built in the 1930s, Sheedy's is still run by the same gracious family. The inn has been very tastefully updated with period furniture, fine beds, and modern en-suite bathrooms. Sheedy's has a fantastic restaurant that serves locally sourced ingredients. An old-time pub with live, traditional Irish music is a short walk. It's an easy and scenic drive to the coast and its magnificent cliffs, a variety of 15/16th-century castles, and the "Burren" -- an expansive national park. Enjoy a great traditional Irish lunch with the friendly locals at Bofey Quinn's pub in Corofin. Galway is an hour+ north if you're in a hurry. Several ruins worth a visit lie along the way.
