Blairquhan Cottages

Absolutely amazing place, will be booking again for Easter next year! Cannot fault anything here! Beautiful scenery all around. My daughter wants to get married here and I agree this would be the perfect venue! Thumbs up from me! Also Martin is the gentleman we called if we had any issues! He was polite and helpful when I had to have sone help regarding an Amazon delivery! Cannot wait to comeback again.

The residence was tastefully decorated and comfortable. The beds and bedding were comfortable. There was adequate clean linen. The castle grounds were superb to walk in and very interesting.

There was a quite serious hazard, not far from the front door, an open drain with a small metal cover and the lighting in the courtyard is hopelessly inadequate I hope to post a photo to indicate this. When approaching the apartments the lighting didn't always come on however there are no PIR sensors in the courtyard so when leaving the apartment at night to go out, it was extremely dark. This may show why I was concerned about the trip/ falling hazard outside of the front door. Not everyone obeyed the no parking in the courtyard signs, especially the builders working next door! Most of the windows have been covered on the inside so it was strange and disappointing when viewing the property from the outside, as there were lots of windows which may have provided great views. From the inside, there are a lot fewer window openings!! There is only one bathroom in the property and ablutions had to be planned. One toilet for six or seven is just not enough. I got the feeling from the instructions that whilst we were creating revenue, we weren't as welcome as we thought. Being told not to drive or walk past the front of the house, although we could drive behind it, smacked of a them and us attitude. The kitchen could have been better stocked with cooking pans and utensils. If you are going to advertise a self catering apartment then there needs to be adequate utensils. There were a couple of other glitches however these were sorted quickly and although I have listed some problems, it didn't spoil our time there. We had a great time and I would go again, I just wouldn't say that the facilities were adequate for more than 4 people. I think that some basic greeting items like a pint of milk and a pound box of tea bags would be great. Luckily, we took our own but other booking .com properties we have stayed at, have provided fruit and tea/ coffee items. I understand that might put the cost up but only marginally and it would be appreciated.

Cottage had everything needed. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of space for the size of the party. Setting is beautiful.

Spiders but that's my phobia and to be expected this time of year especially in the middle of the trees.

No Breakfast

The quality of the facilities were poor. Bathroom tab was moving around, so not able to use it, and also kitchen tab is the same. On the first night heating was not working, and got fiexd for second night

Lock on upstairs bathroom was broken.
