Halwell Lodge

My stay exceeded all expectations. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Steve and Tressa were incredibly friendly and have an exquisite taste in decorating the house.

Breakfast***** Grounds ***** Owners***** We could chat to them all day - time permitting!

It rains in Cornwall too.

Great location from St ives, 10 mins by train £4 return pp. 5 min drive from hayle where we went a couple of times, stunning beach much quieter than St ives and places to eat. Steve & Tressa were very welcoming & helpful.

The draining of water in the shower was a little slow and doors were a little noisy. Didn't really bother us as nobody was out late but we were coming back at midnight from a wedding and felt conscious of the locks and doors.

Halliwell Lodge at Lelant is just a few kilometres out of St Ives. Parking on site which was easy to access. Tressa & Steve very friendly with good on advice on attractions to see. Excellent breakfast, catering for my dietary requirements

Halwell Lodge is in a fantastic location, about 3 miles from St Ives. The bedroom was spotless with tea/coffee facilities and shortbread biscuits replenished each day! Breakfasts were delicious and we were able to have something different each morning. The garden is beautiful and a fantastic area to relax after a day. One benefit we had not considered before we went is the excellent public transport infrastructure. We travelled by train and the lodge was just a 10 min walk to the station. Better still, we took a bus each day to various local areas. They were running about every 20 mins to Penzance or St Ives, Zinnor, Truro etc. The service was brilliant and it allowed us to bus to some of the most beautiful coastal countryside in the UK and then walk. You can walk into St Ives easilyl with cafes en route. It was a wonderful restful break. Many many thanks to our hosts who were helpful, friendly and made our time there fabulous. We would go back tomorrow! Ps forgot to mention about the Barbara Hepworth museum and Tate gallery. 😁

There was nothing to dislike. The lodge didn't have a communal lounge as some do so we tended to stay in our room when we were there, although there is a conservatory which we used. But really, we were always out and about so it made very little difference to us.
