The Wilderness Inn: Chalets

Very clean cozy place, close to whiteface mountain. The manager is super nice and responsive, easy to talk to. We booked for 3 nights for my son’s ski competition and will be definitely coming again from now on.

It was very cozy and clean. Close to many towns.

I liked the coziness of the cabin. The location was great.

The bathroom was frigid could use small space heaters in the bathroom area. Also could use either some silverware or coffee stirrers for the coffee that was offered.

Clean. Wood Fireplace. Placement near the mountains. Easy to find.

Water in shower at best luke warm. Not hot. Was told there was a stove and bbq. There was not. Just a grill for charcoal. Which we didn't have so we could not cook our dinner. Was told there was bottled water in the cabin. None. The fireplace had a spark arrestor that fell many times on us when attending the fire

Booked this property based on the cabin feel concept, separate bedroom floor plan, and the 9.4 hotels.com rating. I don't know how the average rating of this property can be 9.4. It is nowhere close. We checked in to sub 10° outdoor temps. Inside was the same. Heat not working. Fireplace borderline unsafe with a broken flue damper stuck in open position. So no heat there either. Owner Yann put us in the "cabin" next door. I use quotes, because it was a 70s vintage mobile home that looked as though nothing had been done to it since it was built and rolled onto the property. At least here was heat. For the competitive price charged, it was most certainly NOT competitive quality. As long as you're aware of the considerable lack of upkeep and maintenance to make your choice wisely. I could go on, but everyone deserves to make a living. Just know what you're renting.

It was a good location and plenty of room for our family.

The cabins are very out of date and had a musty smell. For the amount paid for two nights I would have expected more upkeep, cleanliness and overall charm. We've stayed in multiple places in and around the area and for the same price we have had much better experiences with our accommodations.

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for in a winter weekend getaway. Small, cozy, a fireplace, and a quiet place to relax. We couldn't have asked for better!

So convenient being close to skiing at Whiteface Mountain.
