Great location next to beach

Down an unlit alley full of litter, part of a Turtle sanctuary . Smell of dead fish used to feed turtles, cockroaches in bathroom, no room cleaning or bedding change in 1 week stay

Pretty big room directly at the beach. It has also a turtle sanctiory there, and you can see the turtles and the staff explains what they are doing.

The entry is pretty hidden (one needs to go through a passage). We had some ants in our room - but not many.

This place directly faces the ocean. The location is right next to the station, yet quiet. The beach is beautiful and less popular among tourists, therefore not crowded. However you cannot really swim in the ocean next to the guest house because of the waves (this is common though). The bed was big and comfortable. Seems that this accommodation supports locals, there's a turtle hatchery that shares the territory with this guest house. Still, nobody offered me to visit the hatchery. The room was clean when I checked in. The host is a friendly woman.

Neither the room has been cleaned nor rubbish taken out during my 9-night-stay. No new towels or water offered. No sun bathing area, just two sunbeds that I never used. To enter the premises you have to go through a dirty and stinky passage. The Internet is slow. Once the power and then the internet went off. It's not something unheard of in Sri Lanka. The TV didn't work, the batteries in the remote control didn't either. And nobody bothered to check this thing. I was scared to use the kettle, I think it was broken.

Friendly host is eager to help you with anything. They arranged transfers, whale watching and even a free dinner for us. Nice breakfast! Property is basically on the beach. Cool restaurants nearby.

A/C did not work properly, wet stains on the walls, rusty appliances. But above all - cockroaches! During 10d stay I killed, like 15+ of them. Also, small construction nearby and a pile of thrash right next to the beach entrance.

It’s close to the beach and to the shops…

Air condition doesn’t work properly, I stayed 6 nights all together, the place wasn’t even cleaned once, towels weren’t changed as well. The room is quite dark, construction side beside. Owner sitting in front of the 2 rooms downstairs for most of the day so there is no privacy. Mould on the walls. Definitely I’m not gonna recommend this place
