Staybridge Suites Sterling Heights - Detroit Area by IHG

Staff was friendly. Place was very clean.

Great two night stay in the Detroit metro area. When planning another trip, I will be sure to come back. Positives: -Friendly staff -Clean rooms and facilities -Warm/hot breakfast, with many options (plenty of healthy options, too). A bonus was the waffle maker with various batter options besides the normal (blueberry waffle batter, chocolate waffle batter, etc) -Kitchenette in room -Swimming pool -Laundry facilities -Workout room -Modern outdoor patios -Smoke free -Walk in shower in bathroom -beautiful dining room -very quiet environment (signs were posted, reminding guests to be cognizant of noise) -lots of lighting options in the room I wasn’t a fan of the pets that were allowed, as I’m not an animal lover. However, I’m sure this is a plus for some people. A section of the carpeting in our room was chewed up, I’m sure it was due to a former occupant with a dog. I would suggest heating the pool, or having a hot tub added near the pool. But that is a very minor issue. Thanks for a great stay!

Very clean

This hotel actually surprised us. It was clean and the staff were amazing. The breakfast buffet was great. As a travel agent, I highly recommend this hotel in Sterling Heights, Mi. Our suite had a kitchen with dishes, full refrigerator and freezer with ice maker, burners and a dishwasher. The bed was comfy but a bit soft for my husband. We did not get a chance to visit the pool because we were busy with meetings all weekend. However, the pool area looked nice as we seen it from the outside patio area when arriving. The breakfast was plentiful. There was a yogurt bar, hot items that included egg and cheese omlettes, link sausages, ,potato hasbrown patties, , tomatoes, an oatmeal bar, waffle makers, of course bagels, toast and pastries. There were coffee choices and juices. The staff was helpful. It is family and pet friendly. Don't worry about temperature. The air and heat work amazingly.

Also im a diamond elite member and they wouldn’t even honor the food and beverage voucher at first. Then I had to research it myself to use it. At checkout I waited 40 minutes with the GM and front desk guy to use a $20 voucher. First of all talk about a waste of there time… wasted more hourly wage than the $5 in food they sell at $20 is worth, then wasted mine and all I get is a sorry. On top of the false advertising they do charge $100 deposit and surprise you at the desk. I stay all over and never charged a deposit. I’m baffled why these hotels let pets in ALL rooms. They scratch up the furniture, trim and pee/poop all over. Do you ever see the cleaning lady go in a room with a steam cleaner? This is brand new hotel with pets ripping apart the couch already and stains all over the room. Then why put carpeting instead of solid flooring if you are going to allow pets. This should be a law it’s very disgusting. I tried adding photos of the black light used to see all the stains but the site keeps giving an error for upload.
