We had a wonderful stay at Villa Casa Giovannina in Conca dei Marini. The location is absolutely beautiful, with stunning surroundings. The property itself was very good neat, clean, and well equipped with all the necessary facilities. A special mention to the owner, Francesco, who was extremely helpful throughout our stay. He was always quick to reply to my messages and made sure we had everything we needed. Truly a lovely experience!

The location and the sea

The location and the sea are beautiful, as is the villa itself, at least at first glance. But living there turned out to be impossible. The house only looks attractive in the photos. In reality, rats run around the garden and terrace even during the day, and the bedrooms are infested with insects that bite you every night, leaving awful welts. It was the worst holiday I’ve ever had through Booking. We cut our stay short on the sixth day and informed the villa’s contact person, Francesco. Whenever we reported the problems, the responses were always the same: rats are “part of the natural environment,” and the insects in the mattresses were supposedly “just mosquitoes.” On our last day, they staged a whole performance of disinfecting the house. After spraying all the beds and linens with insecticide, they even suggested we stay longer. In my view, for the price they charge, proper sanitation measures should be a given. Instead, what we had were ants and bugs in the bedrooms, that’s how I’d describe this property. The villa owners didn’t react at all to our early departure and flat-out refused to issue any refund. Only with Booking’s support did we manage to get part of the money back. As for compensation for a ruined holiday and the health issues, we didn’t even get to that point. A week later, the bites are still bothering me and are hard to treat. Apparently, profit matters more than reputation here. For both this villa and this booking, my rating is zero.

Spacious and very clean apartment wit a wonderful view and 3 outdoor seating opportunities.

Great location with outstanding panoramic views of Amalfi coastline. Lots of living space, with plenty of outside space including a patio area with sun loungers, separate area with table and chairs to eat outside and another patio outside the master bedroom. Beautiful gardens. Very clean and the kitchen had everything you needed. Handy parking just up the road, and close to Sida sud bus stop. We used the app to buy bus tickets which was much easier as not usually able to buy on bus. We used mixture of bus and ferries to get about which worked well and visited Sorrento and Capri. Kept away from taxis as heard they were excessively expensive. We used our rental car to go to Pompeii and Vesuvius which was well worth the trip. Excellent communication about how to access property and provided with everything we needed to know. Always got very quick replies to any questions we asked.

I suppose the main thing to realise if visiting Amalfi coastline is to understand how difficult it is to access anywhere on foot. Roads don't cater for pedestrians!! Also limited access to swim in sea especially in October as the conca di capo lido was closed but worth visiting the watch tower on the peninsula for amazing views. We enjoyed swimming in the sea in Amalfi town, Corsica and Furore Fiord and the local beach via Marina near the bus stop next to the hotel Belvedere.

Excellent, quiet and private location with breathtaking views. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and welcoming. Easy access to beaches and food market and restaurants within walking distance - albeit an uphill but pleasant walk. Bus stop only a minute walk from property.

A dishwasher would be a welcome addition to the kitchen.
