The mansion was a wonderful experience. The breakfast was superb. Our room was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful. The whole place is just gorgeous. Give yourself a treat and stay at the Bel-Air mansion.

We stayed at the Belle Air Mansion on our way to Illinois from Virginia and are so glad that we did. The Belle Air Mansion was originally built in 1832 and expanded in 1838. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. Unfortunately, it fell into disrepair and by 2014, it was listed as one of the nine most endangered historical places in Nashville. Luckily, it was purchased by Lewis and Connie James in 2016 and restored, and made into a Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Captain's Room, in the retreat house, which is a separate building across the parking lot from the mansion. The room was small, but furnished with antiques and a small ensuite bathroom with a really nice shower. Even though the mansion is close to two main highways, we did not hear any road noise in our room. The location is great because you are less than six miles from downtown Nashville, as well as several restaurants and shops closer by. Because it is just off of major highways, it is easy to locate. The mansion has been restored to a beautiful bed and breakfast and you are able to go on a guided tour of the mansion after breakfast each day. Breakfast is served in one of the main dining rooms of the mansion, or out on the large covered porch. It was a beautiful day, so we opted for eating on the covered porch. Breakfast consisted of homemade southern biscuits with sausage, a hash brown casserole that was absolutely delicious, scrambled eggs and fresh fruit (grapes and cantaloupe). What a delicious way to start the morning. If you have ever wanted to stay at a historical mansion, we would wholeheartedly suggest that you book a stay at the Belle Air Mansion.

Absolutely beautiful mansion, great location, delicious food, friendly staff. Would stay there again and highly recommend. Breakfast was great every day with nice variety. Room was spacious & clean. Thorough communication from staff.

Breakfast was great. Staff was wonderful. Mansion was beautiful. Loved that you had a big tub in the bathroom and double sinks!

Parking lot was hard to get out of if you were going left. The TV was not situated so you could see it.

First time staying here-it was close in proximity to a convention I was attending. I was absolutely surprised in the best way. The room was huge, beautifully appointed, quiet and private. The price was also fantastic for what the space provided. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was huge with a wonderful tub and shower, and the a/c was cold. The breakfast was made fresh, and the staff on site were friendly and accommodating. I would stay here on any return trip to Nashville and in fact this has been my favorite of probably two dozen hotel stays this year! I have two things to note (not negatives, just things that I’d like to have paid attention to): 1-there may not be staff available if you show up early. I did this, because I didn’t see the text messages noting check in times/that the hotel may not have staff at all times. I was able to connect with staff on site and leave my bag, but if you’re expecting a very early check in, without previous arrangements-this may be of note. 2-Have cash for tips on hand. I never bring my debit card, and I didn’t have cash. I guess I’m used to seeing QR code tip envelopes for housekeeping and kitchen attendants, and I felt terrible that I couldn’t tip any of the (very attentive and wonderful) staff.

Beautiful facility with amazing rooms. Staff was outstanding. Absolutely no complaints. Would stay again without question.

Check in was a breeze. Liked the option of two rooms. Room quiet and very comfortable.
