The staff, the location, the whole place was great. Fantastic stay, amazing staff, we had out daughter with us and they were so accommodating for Autumn

The location of hotel and access to beach. Size of the room and views. Friendly reception staff. Room service and cleaning facilities. Parking. Very secure.

For fairmont hotel it was not to the standards in keeping with other locations globally. Rooms needs updating and bathrooms need repairs. Breakfast was same everyday and the staff seem over worked and stressed and unhappy. For an international hotel very limited vegetarian options for breakfast as well other meals in the various restaurants within the hotel. Over priced food with basic quality food. Didn't seem be willing to accommodate dietary needs. Not value for money.

The cost

After much research, I booked Fairmont for my family. I felt extremely expensive, but it was very last minute and I was able to find two rooms connecting. They guarantee connecting rooms if you book using their family offer. We loved our stay! The people are so friendly, rooms were quite nice with a big balcony overlooking the ocean. Housekeeping was everyday with turndown service. There were unlimited bottles of water should you need them. Pool service and food was good, and daily included breakfast in the restaurant was plenty. We had to think of nothing and plan nothing during our stay. Parking is free. For water sports you have to go to the nearby Beach Club which is not far, walking distance right by the parking lot. The people here are so nice and really want you to have a good stay. The pool was quite good and deep. While most people hung around the pool, nobody really went in so we had plenty of space to ourselves. The beach was serviced all day and you didn't really have to fight for space, there were enough chairs. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. We had only 4 days and were so happy with our stay here. The beach service does need work though. After a time, they get incredibly slow to bring food and drinks. We had to wait for over an hour and went to the pool area just to get food since everything was so slow. By evening they also stop servicing and setting up the chairs. Their internet is spotty especially on the beach and some other places which I really hope they fix. We did venture out of the hotel one day for nearby attractions, and mostly went out to eat due to boredom from eating in their restaurant daily, but you could really spend all your time here and not go out at all. Limegrove mall, really beautiful but highly expensive, is a 10-minute drive. You don't need a car but I am not sure how cheap it is to get a taxi or uber. Car rental was pricey but we liked the freedom of movement and liked eating out everyday. A lot of nice restaurants are within 10 minutes driving distance. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. It is very pricey yes, but worth it. The store in the hotel is quite good and well-priced compared with Limegrove mall. However, the woman keeps telling everyone that it is locally-made which is not true if you look at labels. A lot of the stores in general here say everything is locally made but it is clearly not.

The hotel is run down, almost delapidated and is in need of modernisation. Comfortable bed and great view from room. We didn’t enjoy our stay. Apart from the room cleaners who were excellent and three particular staff members this hotel is possibly the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. And in my 77 years I’ve stayed at hundreds. • Service, slovenly • Food, mediocre • Beach good • One particular lady on reception, dreadful (through my invoice at me) On arival they take credit or debit card for authorization to cover any incidental charges during our stay. Of course the alternative option is for guests to ‘pay as they go’, certainly a lot more reliable and less open to abuse.. The y have overcharged me 3,940.08 BD and Im having difficulty getting my money back .... dreadful. And its not a staff problem, it’s a management failure. No leadership .....
