Millbrook Resort

Loved the resort and how quiet it was. The staff were friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved our long weekend there.

I was expecting a 5 class hotel but overall disappointing. Service was poor by international standards, but probably good by NZ standards in South island. Also I expected the Japanese restaurant to be slightly more formal in the service. Breakfast was very confusing - there were a load of questions before we were given a seat ie buffet , or cooked etc , even though both were on the buffet tables. There were eggs on the buffet table but when I took one I was told it wasn’t a hard boiled egg as I thought and was told to return it . I booked the hotel for 2 nights , but booking of second night was done separately to the first night . I asked that I be accommodated by not having to move rooms . In the event , reception knew nothing about this and proposed moving me to another cheaper room . I asked to be accommodated in the same room and eventually they accommodated me , at an extra cost . I had to make a case for not paying this surcharge( it seems that the first night was in a better room that what was reserved for the 2nd night) and eventually reception waived the extra charge , on the basis that they would have avoided having to move our luggage etc .

Stunning surroundings and facilities

Poor communication from Kobe Restaurant when trying to make a reservation. It’s not good enough to ignore messages for 2 days. The cost difference between the two golf courses seems unfair and disproportionate, and came as quite a shock when we went to pay.

Our two bedroom apartment was a home away from home. Wished our stay was longer and will definitely be back.

Handy to airport, Arrowtown and Queenstown. Lovely laid out resort. Friendly, helpful staff. Only a fleeting visit for us, but will be back.

Beautiful setting, lovely clean apartment, excellent food and the staff were all lovely - especially enjoyed the yoga classes!

Outdoor hot pools looked very tired.
