Not very many things I liked. Location was not too bad.

The state of the room was disgusting. There was dirt and maybe dried mud all over the carpet. Questionable stains on both chairs. Towel holder broken. Mould in bathroom. Something questionable under the bedside table when I tried to move it. The large picture frame was damaged. Called to advise them of the state and was offered a room change and provide just 2 wave pool vouchers for the inconvenience regardless of the fact that we actually had zero plans to even go there. Upon moving to the second room, the aircon worked for all 2 minutes before dying. I tried to trouble shoot before calling as it was getting quite late and did not want to keep messing around with rooms again. When nothing worked, I called reception again to advise them of this new issue. Now either it was the language barrier or unclear policy, but the lady tried to tell me that she could not do anything until the morning as the maintenance staff had left for the day. I went around in circles with her for a couple of minutes explaining that I will not be staying in a room with no aircon and no windows before she passed the phone over to someone else. I then explained the situation to her and she said that the aircon was working before she left. I acknowledged it did but shortly stopped working after she left. We were finally moved to a third room. While it was cleaner then the first room, it still left something to be desired. Nil compensation for this second inconvenience. I am not one to expect upgrades or anything major, I don't like to kick up a fuss. But 2x vouchers ($8 each) to the wave pool is pretty poor form for having to go through two room changes at 11pm at night, and one of those room changes requiring someone to be up to date with their tetanus shot to walk barefoot in. This is now the third round of owners since we first stayed at this location 25+ years ago. Each time someone new has taken over, the quality has gone down hill. Will not be staying here again.

I liked the hotel overall; it was a good stay, and I was very comfortable. I thought the rooms were very clean, and the bathroom was too. The beds were very comfy, and the TV was great! Overall, it made my stay comfortable and safe.

I didn't appreciate the staff not informing me of any additional costs when they offered to pack up my breakfast that was meant to be included. But because they packed it up, I was charged even though I brought up that I wasn't initially informed and that I had paid for an included breakfast for that day.
