Cardozo Hotel South Beach

Love the hotel smelled very good. Stores nearby was able to swim on the ocean right outside. The hotel was able to book in early. I cannot wait to stay again.

Great location, beach front. Friendly staff for check in and check out. Room was clean , bed was comfortable. Liked iced water by the elevator.

We were excited to find good rates at a hotel right on Ocean with such history that had been entirely restored. That it is owned by music icon and sweetheart Gloria Estefan made it that much more fun. The rooms are simple but elegant, the AC plentiful, the location perfect! The free internet, coffee on each guest floor, beach chairs, beach towels, and bicycles are a fun touch. We didn’t have time to use it, but free access to the high-end Crunch Fitness is also a nice perk. The Cuban coffee at Estefan’s Kitchen Express (and the tasty pastellito for an additional $1.87) is the best we found in South Beach. The Cuban breakfasts at Call Me Cuban were the highest quality, best value we found in street-front dining in South Beach. The only drawbacks are the front desk, the deposit, and the world’s smallest and slowest elevator. While the front desk staff were universally friendly and helpful (a rarity in South Beach we discovered), their processes and procedures take forever! Our check-in took 30 minutes. At checkout we finally had to just throw our keycards on the desk and say we’d be back to settle up because we had waited 25 minutes for the guests in front of us to check in and we had to get to a lunch reservation. The elevator fits two people comfortably, four people if you get friendly, and takes several minutes between floors, so waiting for it to come or go became a whole thing. It is clear from the hefty deposit they require ($100/day for the duration of your stay), that they are used to spring breakers emptying the minibar nightly and not paying, so be prepared for a significant extra hold on your credit card. All in all, there are some issues, but value, location, and the extras make the Cardozo a place we would return to.

Right on ocean drive, staff very friendly. rooms were clean and boutique like. you can ask for chairs and towels for the beach, at no cost. The beach is nice. public parking right around the corner for $20/day. Went with my wife and 2 kids. Would stay again.

Wonderful hotel. We stayed as a family of 4 and the hotel staff bent over backwards to make our stay wonderful. If you want a location right on south beach you cannot beat this. View of beach from hotel room and all the fun and restaurants right at your door
