Candlewood Suites Salina by IHG

This was a perfect stop on our road trip from Colorado to Ohio. We had 2 cars, one roof loaded with several sets of skis and 2 snowboards, one car hauling a camper. We were concerned about parking our gear overnight somewhere but this hotel was a bit off the beaten path and parking here was ample, extremely well lit and under security surveillance. I asked the front desk the best place to park the camper and she was reviewing all the security screens looking for the best spot. The facility is definitely older but has been renovated wonderfully- better than most hotel renovations we’ve seen. The beds were comfortable, they had different pillow options on each bed (down and traditional fill), and the towels were very soft. The room was spacious and accommodated 2 adults and 2 dogs perfectly. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The bed was comfortable- a little high so could be an issue for a person with mobility difficulties. A real coffee pot in the room.

A bit dingy… lobby is not welcoming although Katrina at reception was very nice.

Diane at the front desk was awesome when I left an item behind, she found it quickly and called me back. We like the convenience of a kitchenette and appreciate the well lit pet area. Lots of options for dining and coffee in the neighborhood. The front desk person at check in was also very helpful.

No issues

Quiet room great for my cats. The little kitchen was great, loved the full size fridge. Staff was very friendly. The bed was comfy and had a choice of pillows to match your sleeping style.

Water pressure wasn't great, but doable.

The check in was simple. The clerk was very nice

Did not realize no breakfast, that's our fault but you pay at least as much.as ones with.

Advertised as a 1-bedroom suite. This needs to be changed on Booking.com, as the hotel staff advised that there are no suites with walled-off bedrooms at the property. This was a problem, because our infant’s sleep is easily disrupted. We were able to put her pack’n’play in the accessible shower, though we initially didn’t appreciate being put in an accessible room because have you ever tried to bathe a squirmy infant without a tub or reasonably-sized sink? Washing machine shredded an old, beloved waterproof picnic blanket. Just absolutely chewed it up. Will never stay at a Candlewood ever again. This brand has really gone downhill.
