"Disappointing Stay Despite the Views"

I stayed at this hotel for three nights during a business trip to Montreal. The first two nights were booked by my company, while I personally booked the third night in a premium room category. Unfortunately, my stay was a succession of problems from beginning to end. The first room I was given had faulty lighting. After changing rooms, I discovered the USB port was not working. I then had to make multiple trips to reception because I was initially given a UK adapter… in Montreal. At breakfast, after leaving a 10% tip, a server felt it appropriate to tell me that “the minimum is normally 15%.” I found this comment unprofessional and inappropriate. The room change for my third night was even more frustrating. I was asked to pack all my belongings and bring them to luggage storage myself because the hotel could not transfer them. Later, I was given a room that had not been cleaned at all: dirty sheets with holes, empty bottles, trash, and signs of the previous guest everywhere. I have photos to support this. To her credit, the manager on duty genuinely tried to help. However, the replacement room she personally escorted me to was already occupied by other guests. That moment perfectly summed up the lack of organization throughout my stay. The overall condition of the hotel was also disappointing. The bathtub was heavily worn, carpets were damaged, and cleanliness in some common areas was questionable. What is most frustrating is that the photos on Booking.com do not reflect reality. The hotel appears modern and well-maintained online, but in person it feels dated and poorly maintained. Even a member of staff told me the property had not been renovated since 2012 and was “a bit neglected.” The views and location are excellent, but for the price charged, the service, organization, and condition of the property fell far below expectations. Very disappointing.

I had to go back down to reception to be reassigned to another room. Once settled into the new room, I discovered that the only available USB port was not working. Another trip to reception followed, where I was given an adapter… for UK outlets. In Montreal. I then had to return to reception yet again to obtain an adapter that was actually compatible with the hotel’s outlets. The following morning at breakfast, I experienced another particularly unpleasant situation. "A wonderful pre-cruise stay!"

This review is for our two-night pre-cruise stay at this hotel. We booked through Amex The Hotel Collection, which included complimentary breakfast for two each day and a CAD $125 property credit that we used at Alice Bar on our first night. We were very happy with the experience. The food, drinks, and service were all excellent. Our room on the 26th floor was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The two full-size beds were very comfortable, and the beautiful marble bathroom had a timeless elegance that reminded us of old-school luxury and charm. The gym on the third floor was well-equipped, and I enjoyed using the treadmill while people-watching through the large windows overlooking the street below. What truly stood out throughout our stay was the outstanding service. Every staff member we encountered was professional, courteous, and genuinely welcoming. François and Meighan at the front desk, along with Abraham the bellman, were especially helpful and contributed to a memorable experience. Overall, this hotel provided the perfect start to our Canada and New England cruise vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, appreciated the excellent service and accommodations, and would not hesitate to choose the Omni brand again on a future trip. We would gladly stay here again.

"Decent stay but nothing special. Consider all factors of your stay at the price."

The staff was very nice! It was in a great location.

First, I was traveling with my 86 year old grandmother and the showers had no accessibility bars. Not safe, not inclusive. Second, the property has a pool and hot tub but it’s closed indefinitely. That’s a bummer considering the price you pay to be there and there’s already NO complimentary breakfast. They do have complimentary water all day and coffee in the morning, that was nice. The restaurant staff were SO nice but the food is too expensive. We mostly ate elsewhere, especially for dinner. We also didn’t have our rooms cleaned on a few of our days because they were short staffed. Unfortunate, but they were good to drop off fresh towels. Overall it was an ok stay but for the price, I just wish it had more to offer.

"Horrible experience at Omni Hotel Montreal!"

Very disappointing! This is not what I expect in a 4 stars hotel My room is not prepared well when we check in- 1. No hair conditioner. It is completely out and it was frustrating during the shower. 2. Two out of three bathroom lights are not working. It is so dark in the bathroom. 3. No floor mat so we need to use towels to place on floor to prevent slippery fall. 4. Facial tissue box is empty. No refill 5. Two power outlet is not working. Unable to charge electronic device. 6. The lamp on the right side of the TV keeps flashing 7. The mattress keeps sagging that cause back pain 8. They do not replenish new towels each day. Horrible experience!
