This is a review offering a review of a few visits and explaining why we won't be returning to this property. Sharing for others to know, because if we had seen a review like this, it would have really helped us on our final visit. We picked this Element about 3 years ago due to its great location, and what it offers, for where we need to be when visiting Massachusetts. Finding a suite with separated one bedroom offering is not easy, and finding a property that offers free breakfast with it is supposed to be the dream. Our first visit here, shortly after the world reopened from COVID and restrictions in general were over, was excellent- other than the annoying rotary to get to the highway, we had no notes and said we'd gladly stay again. And we did.. and each time it got worse. The next visit was not as great as the first, but we stayed again anyway. Then we had a visit where, after being offered a visibly dirty room (with pet hair all over the floor), we were moved to a different, also not very clean room. We were told that housekeeping leaves the property at 3pm and no one other than the front desk attendant could help us. The sheets on the housekeeping-made bed were stained and in general that made it feel not clean. We had to visit the front desk three times and walk into the housekeeping back room with the staff member to find the appropriate-sized sheets for the bed and then change them ourselves. We also noticed areas that were clearly missed by housekeeping in the bathroom and kitchen, which we cleaned ourselves. Noting that we should never have to do that at a Marriott property, we spoke to staff the next day and the housekeeping manager took care of the situation and assured us this was abnormal. Our final stay was in July 2025. This time, just in case, we brought cleaning supplies with us under the expectation we should not be using them. Again, upon check in, we had to request a room change because we found food and crumbs under the sofa which made it obvious the floors were barely cleaned. The new room was better and we stayed but with a close eye on things. The bathroom doors are barn doors and when I used a lysol wipe along the flat part of the barn door handle, brown dust and dirt came right off. That should have been a very obvious and easy thing for housekeeping to clean. We gave the entire place a full cleaning (and found plenty to clean), put a do not enter sign up, stayed for the duration, and then began looking for a new property for future stays. Aside from the abysmal standard of cleanliness in the rooms, we typically stayed long enough to see an entire rotation of breakfast offerings. The weekend offerings- when the hotel is much busier, is significantly less than weekdays. While the chefs and kitchen staff are very kind and can only operate in the restraints they are given, here's an example. On the weekends, the "made to order" breakfast selections are ready made but served to order. The ready-made option included an allergen so we asked for a single egg to be cooked (which, on past visits had been no problem) and were told that due to the egg shortage (a true issue nationwide at the time!), they weren't doing that. But on Monday morning, there were plenty of eggs to be made to order. This is an example but showed through the other food options made available on weekends vs weekdays as well. It is nice that if you put a do not enter sign on the door, they will not enter (this does not seem to be the case at all Marriott properties if you stay longer than 2 days) and some of the staff is really great, but we cannot continue to return to a property where we need to clean the room upon arrival.
