La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Austin Southwest

i have an autistic son, as i was checking in my autistic son was making loud noises he can’t help it. But The Man at the front desk was acting visibly annoyed and told me he can’t focus with all the noise as if i can shut my child up. His name was marco i believe. The staff is usually respectful but i guess Marco isn’t.

Staff at checkin was so nice and made the process super easy after an absurdly long day. That was appreciated.

Personally, I would have liked full size shampoo and conditioner.

the remodeling is kind of terrible, didn’t really feel super comfortable during my stay. never have i been to a hotel where it was such a hassle to open the door to my room. i’ve been here five nights now and my room hasn’t been cleaned.

The hotel is very dated. The bed & pillows were comfortable and we were on the 4th floor and it was quiet at night. The room coffee pot only shot water out of the top & did not make coffee. When we told the front desk, they said they have coffee in the lobby. There was dried ketchup (or something) on the floor in the bathroom, the refinish paint was peeling from the tub, dirt in the corners and the sheets were stained. The front desk responded "Eww", and no one came to clean. The continental breakfast is very limited. You get what you pay for. Booked room as part of a package deal with a car, but won't come back.

The location was ideal for my plans that weekend. Close to everything I needed....Zilker Park for my race, Chuy's to meet friends, Target for shopping, everything I hoped to visit.

The hotel was under construction which guests didn't learn until checking in. While I understand the need to renovate, I was awoken all weekend and much of the work was done right at my window. Had workers at my 5th floor window, all the beeping noise and equipment was outside my window. It was not a restful stay. If the work was being done on a weekday, I would imagine guests were not trying to sleep in but instead attending a work meeting or not at the hotel during the work hours.

Room was dirty and seemed to be unkept from vacuuming and window cleaning..also lobby windows were dirty ..overall the hotel was not clean. Stayed two nights and for second night towels were not changed and beds made
