Silversmith Hotel Chicago Downtown

This hotel is an absolute gem. Spacious, luxurious rooms and top-tier accommodations and hospitality. The entire staff has been marvelous and the location is walkable distance to multiple attractions. The restaurant, bar, and lobby/lounge provide a welcoming but upscale experience. I will absolutely stay here again!!

Incredibly lackluster service and amenities. In room Lavaza coffee pod machine but only offer paper cups WHICH DO NOT FIT. No tea or hot water for tea in the lobby after 11 am—but bar or restaurant not open then either. No niceties like snacks or fruit. No maid service after 2 nights, had to request and they were surly. Worn room, peeling wallpaper. Just low-grade crummy for a not-cheap hotel. Staff seem pissed off and their fake friendly lasts exactly till you hand over your card. Sheets are worn thin and scratchy, our top sheet was on upside down with corners pulling off. Also in what seems to be a pretty empty hotel we got a room that faces an entire brick wall of building. Never again for us. Entire experience is like “hey, fu@k off.”

It was a huge and lovely room and very comfortable.

Highly recommend staying here. Excellent customer service. The staff was so helpful and pleasant. Enrique was so welcoming and ensured we were well taken care of. He helped us with directions and parking. He made our stay excellent.

Location was great. Front desk staff was even better!

Lots of leaks in the room as you can tell from the peeling wallpaper and stains on the wall. Black hairs all over the bathroom and one of the TVs didn’t work.

My room was amazing and I loved the high ceilings!! Beverly at the front desk was as kind as ever and always offered help or kindness every time we walked in! The entire staff was exceptional.
