There wasn’t anything I didn’t like

My experience with this hotel was deeply disappointing and honestly unacceptable. I booked through Expedia, but a severe weather advisory made it unsafe for me to travel. Expedia stepped in, contacted the hotel directly, and clearly explained the situation. Even then, Crowne Plaza Indianapolis-Dwtn-Union Stn by IHG refused to show any flexibility whatsoever. I fully understand policies exist — but there are moments when safety and basic human decency should matter more than a non-refundable clause. A responsible hotel could have offered something: a refund, a credit for a future stay, a date change, or even partial consideration. Instead, they chose to hide behind policy and keep $97 rather than support a returning customer who has stayed here recently and travels frequently. This experience made it clear that this property prioritizes profit over people. It would have cost them nothing to do the right thing, and it would have earned long-term loyalty. Instead, it sent the message that customer safety and goodwill don’t matter here. The only thing this hotel really had going for it was its proximity. The property isn’t particularly modern or impressive, and at this point, the lack of customer care seals the deal — we will not be staying here again. Sometimes, the only way to speak up is with our business, and this hotel has lost ours permanently.

They don’t have parking on site. Valet or walk two city blocks through the snow and construction site from a parking garage. They don’t answer their phone. Tried to reach them for an hour to cancel my reservation, and they never answered. As I have diamond elite status, I phoned their dedicated support number for members, and the nice woman on the phone also tried to contact them to no avail. Diamond Elite service rep said that she cannot cancel the reservation, and since she couldn’t reach them either, she’d “try to document” the fact that we’d both been unable to reach them. Don’t waste your time with this hard to reach place. Diamond Elite cannot cancel? Do better IHG.

Good location and nice contemporary room decoration. Very professional and customer-centric staff. But my bed was infected with bed bugs ! Shame the hygiene was so poor, as there were many positive points
