Holiday Inn Express Cedar Rapids - Collins Road by IHG

My stay was good only complain I have is I could keep the fan on in my room and it got hot in the room should have a way to turn the temp down farther and be able to have the fan run constantly to help keep the room cool the hallways were very hot witch could be why the room got hot when the air turn it self off

Booked through third party. When we got to hotel, the extremely rude employee couldnt put down her cell phone to tell us "She was going to call us but forgot" and there were no rooms left. We had 4 rooms, 3 had already checked in. So our family had to all move hotels and pay for 2, or we could not all stay together and hang out as planned. Our whole familiy only gets together a couple times a year. As I understand this was not her fault, she was smirking, rolling her eyes, and down right rude and never put down her cell phone one time. She was extremely rude to other guests too. Your honestly better off next door at the Raddison, which is cheaper and the staff is much more polite. Or spend the extra money and go over to the Fairfield inn. This mistake cost me SO much money and honestly, theres a ton of hotels close by you can get better service and a nicer hotel for your money. The girl at the front desk rudely talked over me and said "CALL MY MANAGER MONDAY AS IVE ALREADY SAID" and turned and walked away. I called the manager who said they couldnt refund my money. Staff needs trained. Hotel needs work. Just dont even deal with the mess.

Rooms were clean and quiet. Kids had fun in the pool and breakfast options met our needs.

It was in a good location for us

The pool was gross, couldn’t smell chlorine at all, there were globs of hair in it and smelled like pee. Also when you’re told about breakfast being from 7-9:30 and go to get breakfast there isn’t any that’s there. We were there for a wrestling tournament. A gal was bringing out more omelets and only put 4 in the tray. There was 3 of us. Also the beds were not comfy at all and we ended up being itchy after the first stay.

We stay here 3 - 4 times each year for bowling tournaments. All the staff are fantastic and take great care of us. The complimentary breakfast is great. Everything is very clean and the location is convenient. When we check in, they give us a sheet with each group room number which is nice.

We always have our teams stay at this hotel when we travel to Cedar Rapids. They are great to work with, make sure breakfast is set up for our times, and if we ever need flexibility, they are great to work with! We will always stay here when we travel to Cedar Rapids!

The floor of the shower was very slippery. Even the newerstrips were worn out. The floor needs attention. Otherwise the room was great.

Nice room. Somewhat plain, but clean.

Check in staff was horrible. She acted like I was bothering her and I was the only customer there.she highlighted a few areas on a piece of paper and told me to fill in everything that was highlighted, I was unsure of what needed to be filled in and asked for further instruction and she spoke at me in a loud voice, it was very uncalled for. I travel all the time for work and she was the worst I have ever run into. Don’t know her name and didn’t say anything because she was still working when I left in the morning. Very disappointing
