While every staff member I encountered was courteous and helpful, there were two who stood out for going ABOVE AND BEYOND: Rowdy the shuttle bus driver, and Maria in the canteen. To say they were “amazing” or “incredible” wouldn’t even come close to articulating their level of care, selflessness, and professionalism. Being a hotel near the medical center, many of the patrons are patients and their families going through the darkest moments of their lives. Rowdy and Maria were beacons of light, of hope, of humor, and of humanity. To be able to bring a smile to a cancer patient’s face is a gift, and that kindness has a ripple effect that makes you happy and grateful…and gives me some extra hope for humanity. Thank you a million times over to them and the brightness they bring.

Rowdy was the best. He helped us out so much and had such a positive attitude.

We have been to DoubleTree a few times for medical visits. They always do a great job. Probably the best experience is with Armando at the bar/ Diner area. He is always so welcoming and accommodating. He truly is the highlight of the hotel. He actually remembered us and it's been about 6 months since we've been there, and they must have hundreds of people go through there everyday.

Rowdy Aka Mr on time was the best

I came to be with an MD Anderson patient in his last week of radiation, and I can see why he chose to be at DoubleTree Houston Medical Center. Maria in particular does an amazing job at breakfast. She is friendly and attentive, so helpful in patient dietary needs, never leaving anyone wanting. Coffee or tea is immediate, and guests really feel that here is a second home. The workout room is very clean and the pool area shady and inviting. Having a full kitchen is invaluable for medicines needing refrigeration and just to have ice cream and drinks ready without running to an ice machine every few hours. Parking is ample and of course, cookies!
